As opposed to becoming allies with Germany? Are you even listening to what you are saying? Poland was the USSR's buffer with Germany. Once the Nazis attacked Poland, an attack from the east by Russia was a foregone conclusion. And sure, the USSR was more than happy to lay claim to conquered territories, but they weren't there to exterminate the Jews.

Except that if we leave the straits the Iranians then rule much of the world. Over 30% of the world's petroleum passes within miles of Iran and their ultimate goal is using that 30% to rebuild the Persian empire to a world domination role and put a burka on most everyone.

And the Bolsheviks who took over Russia, did so from 1917-1923. Your quote is talking about Nazi Germany, in the late 30's to December 1941, when the US entered the war, and is an indisputable fact. The Bolsheviks may have been a greater threat to Russians, but the Nazis were a much greater threat to the entire world.

If not for Germany you would have had communism on the entire continent of Europe. Volunteers from essentially every European country joined the fight on the Eastern Front against communism.

To the OP, the answer is obviously, No.
Because “Not my problem” is a bullshite argument that is clearly flawed.
You can’t make blanket statements because the issues are not simply black and white.
There has to be some examination of the pros and cons.

The whole discussion is about leading up to, and into WW2. We’re talking 70 something years ago. And at that time, Nazi Germany was a global threat. Russia, not so much, and it’s not even debatable.
