The entire lawsuit was Trump whining because the news outlets were mean to him.

Then why did they settle? If that was true, they are fully covered by the first amendment.

So were they just stupid then?

I do chuckle at Hollywooders who imagine they have important societal contributions to offer d/t their success in the world of make-believe.

Except it's not funny because complete idiots take every word they say as absolute gospel. There is a reason they are paid to push things to the celebrity worshippers.

See the third response to the OP for an example.

The lawsuits were completely frivolous.

Then why did they settle? If they were frivolous, it's an easy win at trial and they were covered completely by the first amendment and associated litigation establishing their rights under the first.

No, it was a business decision, as indicated by me (and several others) above.

I don't much want to try and teach you a course in settlement negotiations, cost of defense and nuisance value ... because you probably would not understand it. Google those terms, if you are interested.

Throw in the merger issues and the fact that Trump is a petty little bitch (perfectly willing to use the regulatory power in a vindictive manner), and you have a perfect recipe for negotiated settlements.

Ahh yes, the same functioning press that either ignored or had no idea that Somalians were running a widespread fraud network stealing billions in taxpayer money….until some 24 year old Youtube journalist uncovered it all and made the story go viral.

A business decision...... a better business decision would have been to crush Trump in court and gloat to their audiences to pull ratings away from their competitors wouldn't it?

that's good. Because you would damn sure be wasting your time if you thought I GAS about what you thought.

I'm sorry? You saying this is only attributable to Trump? Yea. This NEVER happened during Obama and Biden

Yea. You can definitely keep your teachings to yourself.

Not if they wanted the merger(s) to be approved by Trump's minions.

Then you said

"Uhh uhhh uhh I know what Trump would do because I know his thoughts and what he would say.....and hey!!.... you don't know my thoughts and what I would say!!!!"

And you playing like you have been anywhere near major corporate civil litigation negotiations is just absolutely precious.

I have been involved in 8-digit settlement negotiations on several occasions.

No, I do not KNOW what Trump was thinking (sometimes I wonder whether he is "thinking" at all), but I do KNOW what factors an opposing party in this litigation would be considering. See above.

And now you say:

Nah. Now go sweat about the interest tied to the large balance on the credit card you live off in order to try to impress people and front this massive ego you somehow manage to fool some people with.

Yes.. I've had enough of you """highly successful"""" litigators sit in my office trying to push back the tax man and stay above water while waiting on the next check from Shaniqua's slip and fall case and then head down to the bar to act like you are the modern day Clarence Darrow.

Unfortunately obama took Clooney as the second coming of Kissinger and the two of them decided to throw 100s of millions at Sudan and create South Sudan and give them 100s of millions.......setting off one of the largest humanitarian disasters of the century.

When asked about it Clooney said.....they lied to me. Yes George thats what bloodthirsty warlords do, they lie, what an astute individual you are.

There is one reason and one reason only why they settled...and this is from an acquaintance who is a high ranking person with ABC:

Discovery.

Had the suits gone forward, Trump would have had access to internal company emails. They know they couldn't allow that.

Bingo. I had to laugh. There was a high profile case in the beer industry where the parent was trying to take the distribution rights from one of their agents. The judge recused himself and asked another to sit in with more experience in such cases. He called the distributor to the stand, the distributor started to talk and the judge told him to stop and called council to the bench and said.....

Gentlemen I stopped him because what I think he is about to describe to me is the fact you tried to get him to fix prices.....which is a WHOLE big ole can of worms you dont want to open. We will recess, you guys take a spare conference room and you pay the man, its gonna be a WHOLE lot cheaper.
