Sometimes I post things that I know only people that know me IRL or that have been around certain boards long enough will understand. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

That would definitely be a bad thread!
Commentary would be helpful! However, those types of threads get little no response and so end up being self-policed.
Bad posts get ignored or ridiculed. Quality posts get discussion.
I think you run a risk of getting too cumbersome if you make too many unnecessary rules.

Since you are a bit slow, if he had posted anything that said *this is ironic* I would have never had to post at all, saving us both time and effort. Unfortunately, since he is lazy I had to start this entire thread, make 6 posts, and/or fight a battle that was unnecessary. If he had just added some context to his post this would have never happened. See how context might help?

I’m not fighting against clarity. If you are struggling to understand a post then you shouldn’t be in such a rush to respond to it. Have a little patience, ask the nurse to read it back to you, and then post when you have a firm grip on the topic.

I think that exactly what we should try and save. Many posts are incoherent BS but I come back every day because there is always a post that is smart. I feel like the smart posts are becoming fewer and fewer. If this place got murdered by shitposting we would all be deprived.
