I had no idea who this guy was before reading the thread. But if his social media post cited above is real, then he is dead wrong, and this was not self defense. He was trying to provoke this exact reaction.

Rittenhouse had much more legal justification for that level of self defense.

If the guy CTB killed had weapons that could cause death or serious bodily injury, it would be more comparable

There is a reason why self defense almost universally has proportionality and provocation typically neuters self defense arguments.

This isn't some new leftist/progressive hype machine. This is traditional self defense stuff.

I hope the case is decided on the merits and not on any one trying to set an example, but I do not feel an ounce of sympathy for CTB or the trouble he finds himself in.
