Christie is actually dangerous in a debate. He isn't a threat to win the nomination, but he absolutely put Rubio's head on a pike. My guess is he's in this to put a few more folks in body bags.

Christie takes more room up than the crowd he has. He’s another one who jumped the shark years back. He doubles down stupid nowadays

While you make jokes at his weight and ignore his point, he’s right.

The narrative in this Thread pretty much predicts the outcome of the Debate. Attack Trump and lose Trump Nation or defend Trump and lose the GOPe RINOs/“never Trumpers “. Lose lose for Ron any way you cut it, thanks to Christie. Would be fun to see Tucker ask them if they believe that Blinken’s letter and those who signed it committed criminal Election Tampering. That alone gave Joe the cover for a ‘win’. If so, would they promise an AG who would prosecute to the max like Garland is doing Trump? Would love to here our next Pres handle that hot potato.

My ideal moment at the debate would be:

Chrispycream - "Governor DeSantis should quit defending Donald Trump or get out of this race."

DeSantis - "Look, what we need here is new leadership, and by that I mean, not someone who's never eaten a salad."

I would have stuffed a sock in my drawers or at least got a bigger pants size. That is like Dukakis wearing that battle helmet and riding in the tank. Geez!

Wrong.

Everything they are doing to Trump is wrong. It is dictator shite. The left like to accuse Trump of trying to be a dictator, but this bullshite is unprecedented in our history. It is a witch hunt and I would not vote for any candidate that doesn't agree with that sentiment

And there is absolutely no way Trump wins by attacking conservative Governors and continually dividing Republicans. This isn’t 2016, he lost a lot of voters already after Covid.

Oh really? Ban bet he doesn't win the nomination provided he isn't jailed by these political prosecutions?

When are you balloonheads going to understand he has to win the fricking GENERAL election.

Oh, that's right. You don't care about that. Only the primary.

I realize there is a huge difference between a primary and a national election.

But attacking Trump won't even get these other candidates to the general election. If they want to beat Trump, then they must provide practical alternative solutions that GOP voters would support.

I'm a Trump guy, but I'm a USA guy more than anything. I'm willing to listen, but I remain unconvinced of everyone else as of now. That could change over time. Vivek's unity message and advocacy for the working class intrigues me though.

I think DeSantis is going to be controlled. I also think he isn't good at relating to people. A trait that will be a must for the job he's applying for.

If I believe Trump is the better candidate, that is my right and you'll just have to build a bridge and get over it. Or, you can win me over with a better argument for Ron rather than just calling me a balloonhead.....Because you won't win people over that way.

Christie will struggle to hit Kamala Harris numbers (2%).

Who cares what he says.

Christie should drop out before the debate. His presence on the stage could easily cause it to collapse.
