China's response is interesting... all the more because they 'owe' Tehran.

I was going to post this as a response to a thread but I think the J-20 story is worth it on its own.

This started back, end of Feb (Iran bomb runs) but I first heard rumblings around March 17th. Here's what has floated around.

Iran is supposedly pissed at China. China was embarrassed on the world stage. Behind the scenes, it's said that China has agreed to concessions, only as long as trade [read that as oil] flows. No oil, no concessions.
Why?

Go back to last year and those pesky Chinese JY-27 radar systems. You recall those -- when American forces made them look inept.

Story goes like this:

- October 2025, after successful testing earlier, General Lopez of Venezuela announced "Today, Venezuela has received the Chinese JY-27 radar system - a radar capable of seeing the soul of the F-35"

- December, 2025 Same JY-27 radar systems start being installed in Iran.

- Meanwhile, through the end of year, 2025, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro upped his public troll game against Trump. Until he didn't. I wonder what prison food he's eating tonight. (LMAO)

- Late February 2026, American B-2's (again) flew in from thousands of miles and did whatever they wanted to Iran... all while those JY-27 radar systems sat around doing nothing.

- Turns out the 'signatures' they had picked up in testing? Chinese J-20 'stealth' jets were used. Only one of three stealth fighters in the world, it is a copy of the US's older F-22. The third fighter is, of course, the newer, multi-use F-35.

- Then, genius chief designer Yang Wei, national hero and the father of the J-20 disappeared a few months ago. Originally, he was linked to a corruption case tied to now convicted chairman Tan Ruisong surrounding the aircraft, bribery, etc.

- Then a few months ago, everything Yang Wei touched has been wiped by Chinese, something which implies even worse.

- About that time India, discloses they are able to track J-20 aircraft. Aircraft which increasingly reminds me more of the Mig-25 incident of pilot Viktor Belenko in the 70s.

- Turns out the J-20, which China has been supplying Tehran with, (EDIT: the J-20 is not exported from China .. thanks phaz - they're used for radar testing only in foreign territories) suffer from some nasty compressor stalls; while not being nearly the stealth machines they were promised to have been (and all Chinese believe they are). These machines being used to 'simulate' F-35's signatures, aren't even comparable to the machines China copied (and were supposed to be superior to), the F-22.

So, lets recap. China has been supplying Iran with their best. But their best was embarrassed by the US military, more than once. To a point where is funny, unless you are Chinese.

China is supposedly committed to help rebuild Iran, promising to address the technology gap. Those radar systems were sold at a premium, to guarantee early warning that 2025's Operation Midnight Hammer wouldn't happen again. Then like being treated like a cheap whore, the US returned in 2026.

But Iran's leadership is increasingly pissed, as that was two or three groups of leadership destroyed ago. They now feel betrayed and want China to make good on correcting their blunder, even around sanctions, if needed. China publicly can't do much. except state... 'stay out of our business... business which is probably in violation of sanctions.'

The J-20 testing data leaked on JY-27's during the past 6-8 weeks... like the following.

Yang Wei was a fascinating fellow, with more info on him here. But his design has apparently caused [at least indirectly] the fall of two capitals.
