That’s absolutely ridiculous. Are you not a participant?

Sorry you don’t understand. If I were you I would ignore it and be happy.

I don't even care. Keep up the tit for tat until those dipshits come to the table.

They'll collapse without the American consumer.

We don't even need to crush their economy. We just need Xi Jinping to think we are going to crush it.

Tariffs on U.S. goods entering China will rise to 84% from 34% starting April 10

The main take way from this is China has already been tariffing us at 34%.

Can our PT trade experts like RogerTheCuck or SFP explain why was it ok for China to throw a 34% tariff on our goods?

Should we just accept it?

Or, if we should not accept it, how do you propose making them change their mind?

What sort of leverage could we use to compel them to level out the playing field in regards to trade?

And that's not even half of what they do to discourage imports.

And good luck getting products produced in China without partnering with a state owned entity.

So if China sells 3x what we do, their sack of goods has a tax of $458 billion cost to them, and our sack of goods has a tax cost of $121 billion, cost to us.

You think the tariffs we place on China are costs to China? Some will be, but some will be costs to our consumers. Same with the US exports to China.

Exactly. This whole “free trade” with China has been a one-way street for decades. Trillions of American dollars are hemorrhaging from the US into China.

And my question to the likes of Roger and SFP, is what would they do to fix it differently than what Trump is doing now. I want to hear the concrete actual steps they’d take other than tariffs to compel China to change their ways. I ask because China has no reason to want to change their ways status quo. They’re making literally trillions of dollars off the the US.

So let’s hear it from the trade experts that are Roger and SFP, they’re all about so-called “free trade”. Fine. So how will they get China, and the rest of the world for that matter, to start allowing actual free trade?

Yeah, I've read a couple of pieces where the guys basically say they agree with Trump in theory, but it's way too late to do anything, would take too long, policy will be reversed by a future administration, and and this will all hurt our consumer economy.

This is a weak mindset. Oh no, it's too late. We just have to do nothing and take it.

Weak people and lazy people always find an excuse to not take action.

Whatever happens he will claim victory and say it was his goal. I doubt he will "bend the knee" (I hate zoomer talk) but when it all settles he will claim that was always his goal.

His goal was stated from the get go. Better trace deals that result in better trade deficits. Even if he curbs it 5%...with a top 3 trading partner and everything else with every other country stays the same...that is a huge win for the US is it not?

Do you think that the only way Trump can win is if he flips the deficits? What is the metric?

Some of y'all are really setting yourselves up for a loss here.
