The Chinese Foreign Ministry lamented the resurgence of violence between Iran and the United States on Wednesday, urging both countries to “follow through on their memorandum of understanding” and “avoid resorting to force.”

China regularly condemns America for alleged belligerence on the geopolitical stage; the Foreign Ministry choosing to demand equal respect for their current peace agreement from Washington and Tehran is notable, however. Beijing referred to the hostilities as a matter that its close ally and prominent oil supplier Iran was equally responsible for rather than blaming the United States exclusively.

Speaking to reporters during her regular briefing, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stated that China was “closely following” recent hostilities related to Iran and discouraged military escalation.

“Reigniting the conflict does not serve any party’s interests. Military means cannot solve the fundamental issue,” Mao asserted. “We call on the U.S. and Iran to follow through on their memorandum of understanding, resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation, and avoid resorting to force.”

Mao’s statement did not blame the United States for the violence or exonerate Iran for its participation.

I don't think Iranian leaders can be influenced. Their insanity and obsession with murder and death overrides all natural survival instinct.

I largely agree with you...my solution goes to what John Pershing did to the Moros in Mindanao when he put their rebellion down in 1904.

Kill them (IRGC) and bury them in pig carcasses!

All true, which again sorta bolsters the argument for making every reasonable and rational effort to derail their determined pursuit of devastatingly powerful nuclear weaponry with worldwide reach.

That would be a great and wonderful time for a joint operation with China to keep the Straight open

This is because the United States bombed a rail line if I had to guess. All parties have a reason for this thing to not escalate further including the United States our GCC allies and yes our enemies in the Eastern axis.

I just don’t understand how or why people think they have anywhere near the pile of currently accurate facts and information necessary to produce any rational, reasonable or credible conclusion(s) on this entire multifaceted and certainly complex matter. Particularly all that vital and indispensable information in real time, “on the ground 360,” as they say, from the numerous “scenes” and locations of utmost relevance in this whole situation.

In other words, the extreme extent to which so many amongst us have gone with their intricate beliefs, views and conclusions on the many aspects of this situation without hardly any of the most relevant and critical information and facts absolutely required to do so is, well, baffling (because I noticed that term used earlier).
