We seem to be doing a great job of bringing all our enemies together. That also goes for the merely uncooperative not yet enemies too.

quote:

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to meet in Riyadh, Raisi’s deputy chief of staff said on Sunday. Planning is also underway for a meeting between the two countries’ foreign ministers, after a Chinese-mediated deal restored diplomatic relations following a seven-year rift. Salman extended the invitation in a letter to Raisi, Deputy Chief of Staff Mohammad Jamshidi wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “Welcoming this invitation, the president emphasized Iran’s readiness to strengthen cooperation,” Jamshidi added.

They invited Kashoggi to their embassy too, BTW.

The Saudis are rich but have no long-term foundation to stand upon outside of religious pilgrimage. Trump tried to give them what they're getting now out of China.

This situation is incredibly dangerous. Someone crafting an Islamic "superpower" from Pakistan through Morocco, with nuclear weapons, potentially over a billion people (if they can include Indonesia), at least superficially non-hostile towards India and controlled by China would flip the global balance of power against the United States perhaps decidedly.

China has always played a long game in Asia. They've been playing a long one in Africa and, to a lesser degree, Central and South America. Our politicians have sold their souls to them. This is the harvest.

I remember this one, this is a rerun.

So, basically, a new Muslim Empire forms and goes to war with Israel and India and maybe even Greece cause why not? They have massive numbers but terrible leadership and take heavy losses without accomplishing their goals, spending much more effort fighting internal dissidents than their external enemies. Eventually, the founding prophet unexpectedly dies, there’s a succession crisis, the empire splits down the middle along sunni/shia lines, then splinters again on the fringes due to ethnic tensions, and the whole thing devolves into a sectarian bloodbath all without ever permanently conquering pr defeating a single non-Muslim majority country.

This assumes they even get that far.

Read up on the Six Days War about a far more recent attempt at it. Those frickers were lying to each other about their successes while Israel was mopping the floor with them.

Too many egos, racial, cultural, and religious differences for any type of a united front.

But the world is tired of U.S. hegemony, and there is definitely a desire for change in the balance of power.

Everyone hates us but they hate each other more or want their creature comforts more than building an economic engine needed to unseat us.

If the US were to stop propping up Europe, Japan, South Korea, etc, it may not help us tremendously but all those areas would be fricked because they can’t or won’t afford their own defense.

If there were only 2 Muslims left on earth, they'd each accuse the other of apostasy and fight to the death. They're not going to create an Islamic super state controlled by China.
