I honestly wonder if this wouldn't be the perfect time to go for Taiwan. The U.S. seems a bit spread thin right now, and I think chinas position is only going to get worse as we cut off their cheap oil supply.

Can’t launch an amphibious invasion without fuel. A huge portion of their fuel supply is trapped inside the Persian Gulf at the moment.

felt like taking that massive chance could be worth it

It boggles my mind that so many think these countries are out there just plotting and waiting for their chance to invade and take over.

I’m no Russia apologist, but I can at least understand Putin’s mindset about Ukraine and Georgia. Hell, even Stalin was much more about buffer states than adding to the footprint.

I have a little harder time with China and Taiwan.

Beyond that, what do you people think is the rationale for these countries to want to launch wars across massive oceans?

If they are all using the same missile defense systems, then yea they are sitting these out forever.

Yeah, if the "discombobulator" didn't frick with them, the sheer efficiency and precision of our military has to make their dick shrink a bit.

Plus, the fact that we are now the worlds largest controller of oil, of which China is missing over 1M barrels per day it requires, is also a hit to their sacks.

frick 'em. MAGA winning bigly.

There is a good YouTube on what a actual military invasion would look like. Blow by blow day after day simulation. Think D Day planning. It would be impossible to hide preparations. China I think is plotting for a internal coup in Taiwan or a US President who will look the other way.
I don't understand why they don't try the olive branch. Give to Taiwan and say everything they want. Total peace. No invasion ever. Then become trade partners and happy families together again. Do this for 20 or more years. Then make it England and Minneapolis slowly. I've seen this work lol

This war has shown them they are still woefully behind. In their minds, this war just six days into it, has set them back 10 years at least.

What I think is that they are waiting on some kind of opening. A long sustained operation would be that opening.

I think the opposite. They have been patiently waiting for an opening. They will wait as long as they feel they have to till it’s perfect timing.

and then Russia will unleash the world's second most powerful military that it has been holding in reserve for the past 4 years?

North Korea is the one that scares me. He’s crazy enough to jump in the deep end with out a plan.

North Korea does not have the ability to attack us with conventional forces. It could launch missiles at the US but hopefully we left enough THAADS in South Korea to neutralize that threat. The South Koreans military should be enough to handle the North Koreans after that.

When has America ever been able to slow the growth of chinas influence? America always needs a boogie man to rationalize our stupid foreign policy. We bombed Iran and you have said multiple times it’s about China. Trump and every person around the administration says it’s about the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world. I am just confused at this point, kinda like the excuses coming out of this administration

China is the main one screwed. We took out 25% of their imported energy.

China has over 2 billion barrels of oil storage. They have plenty to affect a takeover of Taiwan. It’s not my opinion that they can take Taiwan, but fuel isn’t the reason why not.
