traditional family. Not that the family even cares.
For those that don't know. The progressives in the Catholic Church DO NOT want traditional mass to resurge.

Ok, the original link about this event was click bait. The Bishop didn't refuse communion as he never even distributed. He sat there. (& I'm no fan of Bishop Martin's ideas, but we have to be honest).
The priests said they didn't see the family. I know of one of the priests and he's legit. If he said he didn't see them I believe him. Others told me the exact same thing.
Before Easter lots of people were going to the rail. It was just recent that an announcement was made to not use it and even then there were people using the rail. So even in this situation others wanted to do it but didn't. The family in the video go to the rail every week. Again, others said this too.
Nothing was stagged. Just usually more than one family is at the rail.

Vatican II was (and remains) an abomination.
Also, the new Catechism is ridiculous. Changing the Liturgy of the Eucharist and Consecration to where Jesus has a chalice at the Last Supper. No carpenter/itinerate preacher is going to have a chalice. He's going to have a cup or bowl. This is purely to "legitimize" the obscene wealth of the Roman Catholic Church.

I thought the new Catechism was in part to correct some translation problems from the traditional Latin into the various languages. I was born post Vatican 2 so I don’t know how the Latin Mass handled this part re cup/chalice.

It was a cup until about 10 years ago.

Archie Bunker was right about Catholics.

Not arguing that—- asking if it was a “cup” or “chalice” when Masses were said in Latin pre Vatican 2. I think that’s the starting point for the translations.

I saw this.
That family doesn't need to feel humiliated at all, That Bishop, Priest and church does.
Only thing I would have done different is I would have remained there kneeling until the entire church was empty or the priest, deacon or Eucharistic minister presented my family the sacrament.
Had I been a Eucharistic minister I would have defied the priest or bishop and given them the sacrament of holy communion.

Ever since I was a child and alter boy at St Ignatius in Mobile, it has been a chalice.

Yep, it pains me to no end to say this. This Pope and this Bishop have all signed up on Papa Bergoglio's absurd borderline heretical scheme "Seamless Garment of Synodality".
In a nutshell it opens the Catholic Church to all sort of moral relativist left wing activism. Among their favorite progressive causes - homosexual union as legit, muslim radicalism, abortion activism, climate change / global warming, and most of all - communism as the solution to economic deprevation.
The left leaning clergy in South America tried to pull this communist scheme off with their Liberation Theology activism (1960 to 1980's) but Saint John Paul II shot it down. To which Pope John Paul incurred the wrath of the communist lurking in the shadows - so they ordered his assassination. And just like their attempt on President Trump, God said,"Nope, not going to happen". But I digress.
But as regards this particular incident with this progressive Bishop Martin history has always shown that when an ultra-progressive entity (aka communism) attempts to implement new policies and practices it must cut-off the past from the present. In most extreme examples of this you have to literally kill off those pesky old people with their old-fashioned views and conservatism. I always thought this was the purpose of the Covid-19 pandemic and this absurd infatuation with Global Warming - Climate Change. Kill off all those old people with their huge carbon footprints. I recall Bergoglio hosting a Climate Change Symposium at the Vatican. Included among the attendees were abortion and population control advocates. I recall thinking - dang Bergoglio isn't even trying to hide his progressive radicalism.
And then there was this situation with George Cardinal Pell and the shennanigans at the Vatican Bank. Apparently Cardinal Pell was getting too close to uncovering some highly illegal transactions. For his effort Cardinal Pell was fired (by guess who) from his position investigating the Vatican Bank and went back to his home country Australia. But the long arm of the crooks caught up with him and he was thrown in jail. Fortunately, Justice prevailed and Cardinal Pell was released from prison. His criminal record expunged. But those responsible for this injustice got what they wanted - they got Cardinal Pell off their backs.
There are other injustices experienced by good holy and traditionalist Bishops (and some cardinals). Too many to cover here.
Which brings me to say - we're in a battle with satan and his minions. I always remember St. Augustine of Hippo reminding us we're citizens of two worlds - citizens of this Fallen World and future citizens of God's World. And of course Our Lord's own words,"if they persecuted me, they will also persecute you" - John 15:18-27
Truth, what is that? - Pontius Pilate
