A good thought, for certain. But the only way that happens is for a clean Congress that votes for it …. and that isn’t happening until the annual congressional renewal of the NSA surveillance programs are rescinded.
Can you imagine all of the dirt the IC has on every politician … at every level?

The dude at Verizon told me if I didn't want to be tracked just turn location off

cadillacattack, is this true.
What funds were they enticing them with?
The cell phone is just an intelligence coup on the public. People's location, calls, texts, websites, posts, videos are all accessible in one device,

Libs love the technology when it's used to persecute political prisoners.
When the same tech is used to track ballot traffickers? Not so much. Crazy how nature do dat.
The GOPe gave us the Patriot Act and keep reapproving sections of it, they are complicit.
Stop voting GOPe.

Dude that's such a bad faith example. lol
If you were inside the Capitol on J6, you were knowingly trespassing and should not have been there. I have huge problems with geofence warrants more broadly because they are abused. J6 is a great example of them being used correctly imo.

The only way to stop cell phone tracking is to not use one.
You can get accurate location data using cell tower and WiFi hotspot triangulation. Very accurate. The cell companies do track this and they require a valid warrant before releasing it.
Now, all car manufacturers are installing cell radios in their cars so don't forget about that when you buy a new one. I have no idea how difficult it is to disconnect, but I would demand the dealer disconnect it before signing the purchase order and then shorting the cell antenna to ground shortly after that. The radio is most likely buried under the dashboard and if so, it will not be easy to do.
It would be interesting to read the auto purchase T&C's to see what you sign away when you buy.

Just keep the phone turned off.

We need to export some more freedom across the globe. Their are millions of brown folks that we haven't bombed yet. This non-aggression cannot stand.

So your confirming the data presented in 2,000 Mules was correct.

There's that meme of the guy asking his phone a few times if it tracks his location and it denies it, then he asks if there's a certain restaurant nearby and it responds something like "Oh yeah, it's just around the corner from you."
Also, if the phone is off/offline, it will store the data and upload it at the first possible opportunity.

Do you also believe in equal justice?

Take your Iphone sim card out, throw your battery into the toilet, and your phone will still say "here I am" to those looking for you...

Faraday bags are useless unless you walk to your location. The government tracks every intersection your car goes through as well.

Funny how none of the technology is used to arrest murderers in American cities but will be used to jail trespassers for 20+ years.

It wouldn't matter anyway. The government can violate your privacy whenever it wants for "law enforcement purposes." That translates into anything they want, by any agency.
There used to be a privacy certification, the CIPP/G, that was focused on individual privacy and the US government. It proved so useless they discontinued issuing it. But I have it, and it never expires

It's not the same. Catherine Engelbrecht with True the Vote (who provided the research that 2000 Mules presented) stated that the geo-data they bought was only accurate to 100 feet.

Then what's the point in having one?
Every cell phone has a unique MSISDN and IMSI number to identify itself to the network. Every time you turn it on, it uses these numbers to establish service, including who and where you are, time, and date, among other datapoints. It cannot be avoided.
Also with a warrant, the cell companies can turn on the camera and microphone and gather any information like GPS co-ordinates without your knowledge or approval.
So called "burner" phones make identification more difficult, but not impossible.

knowingly trespassing
If a police officer invited me into a building, watched me walk around with no effort to stop me, and then I left when asked to leave, trespassing would be the LAST thing I would feel responsible for.
