Because some of us have to pay to get them and would lose everything if we got caught without them. Some don’t have that problem

How in the hell do they get hired and insured with a no names driver license?
I sure as hell wouldn't take on that risk. Trucking companies that do hire them should be fined into oblivion.

Federal regulations require a valid CDL must contain the full name of the person to whom it is issued. The regulation is as follows:
Don’t believe everything that gets posted on twitter. Some of it is designed only to make you mad over nothing.
EDIT: I just noted that this is a “John Barron” post. Now it makes sense.

49 C.F.R. Section 383.153
Information on the CLP and CDL documents and applications.
(a) Commercial Driver's License. All CDLs must contain all of the following information:
(1) The prominent statement that the license is a “Commercial Driver's License” or “CDL,” except as specified in paragraph (c) of this section.
(2) The full name, signature, and mailing or residential address in the licensing State of the person to whom such license is issued.
(3) Physical and other information to identify and describe such person including date of birth (month, day, and year), sex, and height.
(4) Color photograph, digitized color image, or black and white laser engraved photograph of the driver. The State may issue a temporary CDL without a photo or image, if it is valid for no more than 60 days.
(5) The driver's State license number.
(6) The name of the State which issued the license.
(7) The date of issuance and the date of expiration of the license.
(8) The group or groups of commercial motor vehicle(s) that the driver is authorized to operate, indicated as follows: ….

CDLs are more expensive & tougher to get than standard licenses.
It’s insanity to just pass them out like freaking treats on Halloween.

Except California is on record with the following:
quote:
California law requires a customer applying for a driver’s license (DL) or identification (ID) card to present an identity document such as a birth certificate or passport that includes their 'true full name.’
The DMV will enter the customer’s name as indicated on the identity document. If 'No Name Given' is listed in the first name field on the identity document, the DMV will enter 'No Name Given' as the first name for the DL/ID card. This policy is the same for all types of DLs and IDs issued by the DMV."
California does issue "limited" term CDLs for citizens of foreign countries, and does not track the citizenship status of its CDL population.
Furthermore, USCIS policy allows for this. As anyone can see (if the spreadsheet above is legitimate), the practice is being abused.

I always wanted a CDL.
I guess I have to go to NYC and appear in brown face and I get my CDL.
This bit on Married with Children is still the same despite it being over 30 years old.
