How was it even allowed to happen? They were prevented from buying USA farmland, so they became a very close neighbor to the White House. I wonder if John Thune and The Turtle will visit the new neighbors soon.
CCP is a White House Neighbor Now.

I am sure that Thune will have an office there. Statue of McConnell will be in front of it.

Think about it, if you know they are there and they know you know, it sort of blunts the effectiveness.

Can someone please provide a rational explanation as to why ANY foreign government, much less one hostile to the United States, is allowed to own property within the interior of the country?

I know where the Islamists and their mosques are. Doesn't seem to matter either way.

The place where they do their real work is not known and is shielded by this place being there.
"We got our eyeballs on them commies right there beside the White House." hahaha.
The chicoms there are probably more U.S. citizens than you are, with birth tourism bonafides.

I agree with your sentiment, but I'll play devil's advocate....
1. The article said that Chinese citizen bought the property, not the Chinese government. We all know how it will be used, but he bought it as an individual.
2. Free market argument. Why can't a US citizen sell their property to anyone who they want to?
3. Foreign governments (not all) own their Embassy buildings in the US. This has to be approved by the US government, but it exists.
My solution is that there need to be an approved short list of countries whose citizens or governments are allowed to buy property - England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada and like close allies.

Just think of it more as a DNC remote headquarters.

Damn dude. Do you think before you post? So it was cool to have nuclear missiles 90 miles off our coast. We knew they were there and they knew that we knew. You have some dumb takes but this one has to make the top ten list.

I hate to burst your bubble, but two of those four nations actively work with an outgoing administration in an effort to completely subvert the will of the people by derailing our choice of who won the 2016 election. Australia and New Zealand are no better either.
