Minimum wage laws don’t increase income. They redistribute it.

Every dollar of a min wage increase is coming from a decrease in income for someone else

Soooooo what kind of high school kid is going to go stock shelves or be a buggy boy at the mom and pop grocery store paying $10 an hour when he can do the exact same job at Walmart which has to pay him $15 for the exact same work?

Mom and pop grocery stores don’t exist, especially near a Walmart.

Not trying to be rude but he honestly with his responses he wouldn't be hired for the Enterprise Rental Car management trainee program.

It is frightening and I think he has to be a troll.

He has landlords paying more without raising rent and inner city fast food workers buying signed copies of Moby-Dick.

Two high-school freshmen level examples and we are beating him down while half paying attention while we sit on Zoom calls.

Further proof you don't belong in this discussion, lol.

Walmart can't even label produce correctly, much less manage fresh meats and veggies as well as the "local" grocers.

I've seen Wal Mart label talapia as salmon. Because Walmart only hires the dumbest of the dumb.

Why are book store employees paid $11 instead of $7.25

$11 is the minimum wage in my state.

So you can't answer the question. Noted. We're talking about a national minimum wage, not in liberal Walmartville where you live. Where pixy dust and unicorns fly in and pay rental unit owners the difference in cost so they don't have to raise rents.

Yeah they do. I have a mom and pop grocery store 1 block down the street from me.

Nearest Walmart is a few miles away. I live in a city.

Matter of fact, I’m about to go walk to that mom and pop store, have lunch, and pick up a few things for dinner. I’ll be sure to let them know that they don’t exist.

The same as the state. This is a Louisiana forum.

Are you saying that raising the minimum wage just to 11 will eliminate mom and pops? That’s what it sounds like....

What do you think? It’s okay buddy. I know your two brain cells are at odds but I believe in you.

Higher income increases demand for goods and services

What happens to the cost of said goods and services?

Does a 15-16 year old kid in West Virginia deserve 15 bucks an hour as a first job mowing lawns for a lawn service?
