Solar and Wind have been profitable and beneficial to the community along the coast in Massachusetts…

Most modern power plants have wet scrubbers already for particulates, capturing is easy.
I’m no engineer, but from my simpleton viewpoint, it seems the point source “capture” to move down a pipeline, whether for another use or sequestration, would be much more efficient than the air capture technology, where random atmospheric air is sucked in to scrub out CO2 for sequestering or EOR.

I'm not for it. I know that we have pumped it down into the ground along with H2S for eons as removed by Amine units. This issue for me is being economical and affecting the cost of things.
Interesting that pre 2000's CO2 was a third profit stream from ethanol plants. It was captured from fermentation, scrubbed then liquified to sell to soft drinking companies. The market was overwhelmed by all the new ethanol plants to make it economically.
LSB Industries installed a dry ice manufacturing plant at its El Dorado, AR fertilizer plant. It hydrogen reformer to make ammonia produces copious amounts of CO2. They get sequestration credits for making Dry Ice which is all sold to Amazon for shipping perishable goods, and of course that evaporates into the atmosphere. They were already capturing CO2 to use in making urea.

There is a chemical engineer who grew up in Donaldsonville and he is claiming that it is all going to leak from under Lake Maurepas and turn the lake into Carbonic Acid. He doesn't seem capable of holding a steady job!
I guess that he has never had wine, beer, champagne or soft drink. which all had or have CO2 and water in them and nary a one has become carbonic acid

Capturing CO2 after combustion is not really feasible or economical.
It’s very feasible and Congress made it economical with new tax law.
The irony is the climate change people think they are saving the planet. Big Oil is saying okay, we’ll play your game. We currently make profit on the front end with fossil fuel products and thanks for your climate change concerns, we can now add to the profits on the back end with CCS tax credits.

We have a real life example,in Decatur Illinois. The “experts” were sure it was the ideal location, impermeable cap rock, yada, yada. It leaked despite assurances it wouldn’t.
It's still not a threat to the aquifer that is ~5000 ft above where the leak occurred.

You're bringing what I assume is technical expertise into a discussion that's based on emotion.
Best of luck to you.

You 100% sure about that statement ?
Electricity costs have gone through the roof in NE, wind is being subsidized by the customers. Same shite in Germany, energy costs have broken Germany’s industrial output.

XOM has "paused" their current carbon capture projects. All you need to know.
It's a fricking scam that makes greenies feel good about "saving" the planet.

Knowledgeable adults are talking. You don't qualify.

Pause is their wording for "shite canned" unless another libtard administration gets back in power.

Only worthy "carbon capture" is farming and planting trees.
