We already live in a socialist country, on its way to being a communist one. We just haven’t yet made the official declaration.

TownHall

quote:

The U.S. Capitol Police announced this week that they plan to open regional field offices in California and Florida as part of an ongoing effort to better investigate threats against members of Congress. Threats have surged in recent years against U.S. lawmakers, a group the Capitol Police are charged with protecting, and the Capitol Police Inspector General has repeatedly recommended the agency transform its posture to be more proactive. A spokesperson for the Capitol Police said the field offices were part the department's ongoing efforts to operate more like a protective agency, such as the Secret Service, rather than a traditional, reactive police department. The spokesperson said the first field offices will be located in the Tampa and San Francisco areas, and that more locations are planned in the future. "At this time, Florida and California are where the majority of our threats are originate from," the spokesperson said. The department said it planned to work closely with the U.S. Attorney's offices in those locations to take a "regional approach" to investigating and prosecuting threats against members of Congress. Was there a need to reform the training and tactics of the Capitol Police post-January 6? Sure—but there is one thing that’s missing from this move which is that you cannot FOIA the US Capitol Police. So, we have a quasi-secret police force coming to a neighborhood near you, huh? Roll Call had a good piece about this agency that’s “shrouded in secrecy,” and how it’s interesting to see members of Congress call for more law enforcement transparency post-George Floyd but avoid that topic of discussion when talking about the Capitol Police: Democrats and Republicans in Congress have called for an overhaul of law enforcement practices following the police killing of George Floyd, but those same lawmakers who want accountability and transparency nationwide aren’t taking a stance on whether their own department, the Capitol Police, should be subject to the Freedom of Information Act. As a part of the legislative branch, the department remains exempt from the law. […] This reality leaves documents as fundamental as inspector general reports shielded from the public. On May 19, when CQ Roll Call asked, through FOIA, for annual Capitol Police inspector general reports dating back to 2015, James W. Joyce, a senior counsel for the department, said they need not complete the document request. Joyce wrote in response to the email request: “please be advised that the United States Capitol Police, as a legislative branch entity, is not an ‘agency’ as defined by 5 U.S.C. §§ 551 et seq., under the Freedom of Information Act. Therefore, the USCP is not subject to the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act.” A House Administration Committee aide, when asked for a Capitol Police IG report, said he was told those reports are “law enforcement sensitive” and “not a matter of public record.” […] The Capitol Police, which gets its funding from taxpayer money, is able to make arrests outside of the Capitol complex, including around Union Station. Jonathan M. Smith, executive director of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, said Congress needs to address the opaqueness of the force. “They operate not only on the Capitol grounds but they have a cooperation agreement with the city that permits them to make arrests off the Capitol grounds,” Smith said. “For them to be an agency operating in the District without the same kind of transparency that the District government has is really not a good thing, and Congress should address it and fix it.”

That's not how this works.

That's not how any of this works.

We are heading towards a National Police Force. Will they wear brown shirts?

Will the lack of transparency allow for more assassinations of US Citizens with impunity?

The President of the United States threatened anyone who opposes this with jets and bombs and laughed at the thought of the second amendment saving us.

Think about that for a few minutes and then try not to kill yourself thinking of the bloody and horrific reality our children will be living in.

Joe Biden tells the Truth about his administration’s feelings on the second amendment and the founding principal of this country. He also takes a shite on Thomas Jefferson

We already have intelligence agencies and we already have local police. This makes no sense, unless the powers that be are scared of what the audits reveal or something similar.

This is the start to a federal police force . Soon they not only will investigate threats on congress people , but also threats on what they deem to be a threat to society . Your guns , religion , free speech . Who knows , I dont like this at all . They have already corrupted the FBI, DEA, and many more federal agencies . This is dangerous .

There are ample 3 letter agencies to run down any supposed leads across the country pertaining to Capitol security, namely the FBI. Not trying to get into a discussion about the integrity or lack thereof of those agencies, just stating fact about manpower. This is scary in that you are broadening the footprint of a glorified security guard agency that is exempt from the FOIA, and answerable ultimately to the Speaker. On top of that, they are proposing 6.1 million for a database to help with “1/6 prosecutions.” They sky is the limit for abuses, and we know who will be on the receiving end of those abuses.

I remember Obama saying that we need a National Police Force "equal to our Military". Dude is a straight up Commie. And having voted for that lying bastard the first time - suspecting such, but taking a shot re his unique opportunity to unite - I lose all cred re rational commentary.

That 'police force' won't last as long as a snoball in hell when a handful of real Right Wing actors commit atrocious acts on Urban Black areas and street warfare hell breaks loose per Racial lines within a day. The 'capital police' will then be caught in the middle, with their hands full. Do they side with rabid and savage BLM/Antifa...or the massive, well-armed and stocked up populous of responsible and loving Americans who will resort to anything to save their families?

Critical Race Theory just sets the table for the above calamitous scenario. Idiot Left.

People will mock this as a hyperbolic statement, but If we don’t change things quick, sometime in the near future, we will have something akin to the East German Stassi, and citizens will start disappearing in the middle of the night, never to be seen again!

Governors, state Attorneys General and local Sheriffs are now more important than ever.

They have absolute authority to keep these limp dicks out of their jurisdictions.

There is no basis for a national constabulary in the Constitution; therefore, the state and local law enforcement can arrest them for impersonating law enforcement officers.

I remember hearing that Biden has given something like 10B to the Capital Police, just the other day. I assume this is in some sort of 'Stimulus' Bill or something of the like. Easy to sneak any amount of money into the 'Omnibus' bs that they all vote for today.

In a real court, any lawyer would just have to state this and their client would immediately be released. Sadly few of these courts exist today.
