We don’t know the circumstances of their divorce, but I will say, it would not be a surprise at all if Canadian courts favor the mother for no other reason than “she’s the mother”. That’s probably the real story here. The system has created fatherless children which often result in very damaged children.
US courts are finally coming around on this. A friend in Alabama fully expected every other weekend, child support, and alimony. The judge granted 50/50, no child support, and no alimony stating the importance of the father after his ex wife asked for limited visitation, child support, and alimony
A few years ago she would have been granted all three.
