Can we get any of the Green lefties to admit that the transition must be slower?

I'll take anything in the way of contrition. Any admission that, even if most rank and file green folks are well-intentioned, you folks bought snake oil from leaders who don't have any of our best interests at heart?

Any concession that coal, oil and gas are vital to maintaining our way of life, probably into the next century?

I'm as reasonable as they come, but this nonsense has gone on far, far too long.

Not a chance. They are all part of the climate change cult. Everything must transition as quickly as possible or we will all die.

Yeah, right. Contrition requires decency; you'll get none of that.

Any concession

You will not get any, except maybe some folks that are on the edge of the movement...

The transition will not be slowed... Our way of life has got to be changed in order to bring us in compliance with our overlords...

The EPA is passing rule after rule on CO2, PFAS, etc which is going to have a huge impact on life as we know it moving forward...

When have climate nutjobs ever acknowledged ANY level of error? They just change the narrative and quietly hope nobody notices. This has been going on for decades.

No. They're not capable of having a rational conversation

Well, no, your way is crazy "the other way." We should be looking for the replacement for oil and gas now, with the realization that we are going to use it all in some way (energy, manufacturing, what have you). It will eventually run out. Whether in a 100 years or 500 years.

That's plenty of time to solve issues like batteries, rare mineral substitutes, etc. Even if we solved fusion power tomorrow, we would have to figure out how to do that sort of infrastructure.

But, as a reminder to our green friends - we're going to consume ALL the oil, gas and (probably) coal, at least all that can be extracted in a cost-effective way. CO2-phobia isn't going to change that.

My favorite thing is to ask them what will happen if it gets 20 degrees warmer on average.

“Everything will die!!”

I point out then for millions of years it’s been that warm and life actually thrived.

I get called a racist and white supremacist at that point. They usually just stomp off when I say “wait….I’m white? How did that happen?”

They really believe they world is ending in 12 years. They are basically like the cult where the leader says on this day jesus is coming back. And it doesn’t happen- so he makes a new date and they still believe.

the greenies run the show in europe. it will be interesting to see what the masses do this winter. europe is the canary in the coalmine. i expect a depression over there. the greenies must be taken out and never given power again.

Even if I believed that the only way forward was "green" energy, it's abundantly clear we are not even CLOSE to being in any position to have this work at all.

We were far closer to being able to put a man on the moon in a decade back in '60 when Kennedy promised that than we are prepared to be "green" in the next decade.

Not to mention, even if you buy the entire green argument (I don't) how does it ultimately benefit America to suddenly be almost entirely energy dependent on China, considering nearly all of the infrastructure needed for that would be being produced by them? We go from being energy independent to being at China's mercy?

It's hard not to assume this is simply to displace America as the world's superpower and uplift China.

They won't admit it until it impacts them personally even after they've tried sacrificing their ICE vehicles and fossil fuel electricity production.

I think we should start an advertising campaign promoting California as the Green Energy Capitol of the Future and push all the green sheep into moving there. After that? Let them fail, that's the only way they'll learn.

The elites who profit most from the climate change hoax never plan on being inconvenienced by the hardships those decisions cause.

There does not need to be a transition to anything other then what we have . Science has shown that batteries are expensive to produce , not reliable , and do not last the test of time . Also we have no mines to produce the lithium that is required to produce the batteries , and they are just as toxic as carbon emissions . Why mess with something that is totally dependable and reliable , that we depend on in our everyday lives ? It’s just ignorance .

It has to be done slowly. Pushing it too fast is going to cause a lot of harm to people.

"The more meaningful and precise orbiting satellite data for the same period (which are generally not cited by the press) have year after year showed little or no warming."
