Can someone explain the Bin Laden thing that happened on TikTok with some letter wrote?

Apparently some morons who don’t understand history or geopolitics have read a propaganda piece attributed to Bin Laden as the alleged author and they view him as some kind of international truth teller. Kind of like the way people latch on to Kim Dotcom or the Unibomber.

From what I've read, Bin Laden made the argument that all US citizens are legitimate targets due to our support of US government actions. By this logic, 911 was justified, and we are the bad guys for supporting Israel. Apparently some (mostly young) Americans agree with this stance. Hopefully, there aren't many people this stupid.

You'd need to read the letter for yourself. I read it a few days ago and didn't get much out of it. The letter points out Americas hypocrisy and corruption, but that's common knowledge for most. I'm not sure what "enlightenment" younger folk are getting from it.

The people doing it are morons and footsoldiers (if that) so ignore their motivations.

The idea behind the "phenomenon", which obviously isn't organic, is to remove OBL and 9/11 as some watershed, universally condemned thing so radical leftist groups won't have to compete with that lingering mindset in promoting that rape and murder of Israeli civilians (or whatever the cause célèbre is) is part of legitimate struggles of the oppressed against their oppressors. It's a stumbling block they need out of the way to get to broader acceptance of the idea that in the power struggle framework, the "oppressed" are blameless no matter what atrocities they commit.

Now, that's the motivation for true believing radicals, there probably are other actors with other motivations at play. Chinese efforts to undermine and fraction akin to Russia's activities over the last 10 years, where they don't really care about the ideology being exploited, only the end result (America as a bumbling, self-loathing, divided thing).
