Wow, bold choice my friend
quote:
I’d have to pull up the docs, but Churchill has the rep of being the first college created without a chapel (which later an alumni paid for one to be built although distant from the main buildings) so they are proposed an atheist college. I preached on the historical validity of the resurrection, and later had dinner with the master and his wife.
At Clare I preached on the nature of the Trinity that which defines mankind, therefore we can’t change definitions or “fluidities”. Chaplain was not a Christian but he was a friend of a friend. We sat in his office afterwards and he shared this bottle of “whatever” he got from monks in Belgium.
Christ’s I preached on the humanistic understanding of power vs the Biblical understanding. That was a fun dinner afterward because there is an art of conversation the British employ at these type of dignified functions. I proceeded with neutral topics, such as asking the master about his doctoral speciality in mathematics, but he interrupted me (which doesn’t follow code) and said, “oh that’s boring, let’s talk American politics and Trump!”.
At Magdalene, I preached several times, 7-8, and always centralised on the gospel, particularly the moral law and need for grace. In these type of environments you have to be “clever as a serpent…” The Chaplian there is a Christian a still a dear friend.
Pray for the Dean at Clare. Dear friend who I helped get his job, but that’s another story…
Great post all the way around.
That's one of the things I love about this board. Occasionally you meet the most interesting people

non-erotic portrayals of Jesus' penis

In my church, we believe that only the erotic portrayals of Jesus’ penis are divinely inspired.
It seems to me both of the above quotes demonstrate the ridiculousness of anyone claiming to be Christian would use such paintings as representing anything Christian.
What do I mean by that? Paintings made 1200+ years after the subject of the paintings existed.
No ideas of Christianity are being portrayed by them. Christianity should have a problem with graven images in the first place.
And that is without even touching on the issue of TransPeople.

So this college kid took a while bunch of acid on Friday night and wrote his paper all day Saturday and Sunday?

You laugh but microdosing is a big thing there, and amongst a lot of high academia, even profs.

I haven't heard of people microdosing with acid. Mushrooms but not acid. Not saying it doesn't happen but I haven't heard of it.

I didn’t mean particularly acid, but definitely, cocaine and methamphetamines

Christians, Muslims, and Jews have been at war since there have been Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
One only has to note the sect that has been silenced or is silent to understand who is currently losing the war.
