I assume if they are covering their faces they are also not wearing name tags. So how would one know who they are dealing with?
Do you know the amount of paperwork required after an arrest?

Or if they were even legit law enforcement?
This is a legit concern. However. Do you think someone seeing their face and a name badge would change the knowledge of the legitimacy to the suspect?
Also…there aren’t ICE agents running out there all by themselves…there is a presence.

Why don't they just make a state law that says the feds can't arrest anyone in their state. Thay would be way more effective....
Oh, because they have no authority to do so. Got it.

I also do not trust our FBI and some federal law enforcement agencies. I’m with you on that. We can have that debate. Gavin Newsome doesn’t make policy for federal law enforcement agencies.

Fair points.
I came of age during RR and Waco. Seeing masked Feds will never give me a good feeling, and I don’t think I will ever be able to support it.

Agree completely.

Fair enough. We are likely close in age. I just don’t know what not having masks changes…except in this era of social media allowing the crazies to put law enforcement and their family in danger.

And to suggest you have no legal recourse because the guy doesn't have a nametag on is bullshite as well.

Have there been provable instances of this happening, or is this an assumption that we are all making?
I’m not trolling. I am trying to think critically about the topic.
And if I sounded aggressive earlier in the thread it is because I wish everyone would think critically at least once about every topic.
But, I will admit to being very skeptical that if Obama has started doing this in his term that the people who are okay with this now would have been okay with it then.

Not quite the gotcha you were attempting.....

This is about Federal Agents going after foreign criminals, but with a twist!
There are radicals (the same type that cheered Charlie Kirk getting killed) that are working to harass them and their families
This is different than a local peace officer interacting with local citizens

Incidence of law enforcement being doxxed
The incidence of law enforcement officers being doxxed has been a growing concern, with recent incidents highlighting the risks associated with such actions. Doxxing involves the non-consensual publication of personal information intended to intimidate or target an individual, and it poses serious risks to the safety and well-being of law enforcement personnel.
Recent doxxing incidents have targeted federal law enforcement agents, with personal information posted online as part of a larger attack against law enforcement. These incidents have been associated with groups like Antifa and the Islamic State (ISIS), and have led to significant threats to the safety of law enforcement officers and their families.
Law enforcement agencies have taken measures to protect officers by concealing name tags and using alternative forms of identification, but this has also led to legal action from groups like the National Lawyers Guild. The doxxing of public servants puts them, and democracy, at risk, as it threatens the integrity of public service and the safety of individuals who serve the public.
Another good article.

Yes, ICE agents and their families have been extensively doxxed. Multiple Department of Homeland Security sources confirm that ICE officers and their family members have had their personal information, photos, and locations posted online, putting them in grave danger [1]. The scale of targeting has dramatically escalated, with sources reporting:
A 700% increase in assaults against ICE agents [1]
An 830% increase in attacks since January according to some reports [2]
Doxxing websites and social media accounts specifically created to reveal personal information of federal immigration workers [2] LINK

I bet this situation is even more dangerous than the threats that ICE is facing.
My gut tells me that given enough time I could make the argument that local LEO’s need more protection than the Feds.
But this is all a hunch, so I could be wrong.
And I don’t trust local guys either

What difference does a mask make?

Well obviously the California police, so known for their tough on crime approach, would make walking up to these armed badass ICE agents their top priority.

Rioters will definitely still be allowed to wear masks. Even though most cities prohibits large gatherings where everyone conceals their faces.

In most cases the information posted online includes home addresses, obviously putting law enforcement and military personnel, and their families, at great risk.
The latest example happened in Portland in which dozens of federal law enforcement agents had their personal information posted online.
Portland is hardly an isolated incident. The Department of Homeland Security reports that police in Kentucky, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Boston and New York City had been doxxed. Several police officers in Chicago also became doxxing victims in June.
The primary suspect for these doxxing events is Antifa. It has been reported that at violent Antifa protests in Portland, communist insurgents have read law enforcement officers’ personal information aloud over megaphones.

The left has gone from "if you don't wear a mask you're a mass murderer, and government should force you to wear them" to "if you wear a mask you're a terrorist, and the government should ban you from wearing them" in under 5 years.
