There are, of course, mixed groups at the frontier of any bordered groupings. But don't act like you can't tell, physically, the difference between an East Asian, an Indian, an Arab, a Sub-Saharan African, a Sicilian, and an Icelander. Their genetic heritage would say much the same.

I'd like to see that broken down by region. There is a HUGE disparity between the North and South of Italy. It really shouldn't be all that surprising, the Florentines, Milanese, Venetians, etc., basically started the Renaissance, and Naples to Sicily is still kind of backwater - but that may mostly be due to all kinds of invasions.

Fair enough...it also depends on the sport. Basketball is dominated by black folks because historically black folks have been poor in this country and all you need to play basketball is a ball, a milk crate and a street.
Football on the other hand requires a field and equipment. Far more diverse. Hockey requires equipment and an ice rink...skews the other way.
Golf requires money...skews the other way.
