CA judge blocks school district policy requiring parents be told about gender changes

A judge in California issued a temporary restraining order on Wednesday against a school district policy that would require that parents be informed if their child requests to go by different pronouns or gender identity.
The Chino Valley Unified School District had issued a new policy under its conservative-majority board that would mandate parents be told if a student wanted to go by a different gender identity other than the one listed on their official paperwork, prompting a lawsuit from the state.
The policy will be halted as the suit from California Attorney General Rob Bonta proceeds in court.
“San Bernardino Superior Court’s decision to issue a temporary restraining order rightfully upholds the state rights of our LGBTQ+ student community and protects kids from harm by immediately halting the board’s forced outing policy,” Bonta said in a statement.
“While this fight is far from over, today’s ruling takes a significant step towards ensuring the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of transgender and gender-nonconforming students. As we continue challenging the policy in court, my office will continue providing our unwavering support to ensure every student has the right to learn and thrive in a school environment that promotes safety, privacy, and inclusivity,” he added.
The Hill has reached out to the school district for comment.
Bonta argues in the lawsuit that the policy violates multiple state protections for students’ civil and constitutional rights — and that it puts transgender students in physical danger.
Several other California school districts with conservative school boards have implemented a similar policy or are considering implementing one. The moves go directly against the politics of the liberal state government, which has sought to make California an LGBTQ refuge.

Apparently slippery slopes are slippery.

And that slope began a long time ago.

The leftist have to have one complicated set of standards. You can kill an infant but you must allow those that survive abortion to have more protection while dismantling parental rights and control.

1. This sort of notification SHOULD indeed be a matter of policy at the district level.
2. If there is a statewide statute (as appear to be the case), the judge's hands may well have been tied as to what the local Board had the authority to do.

Hard to imagine this because being popular at all with the residents of that area. Chino Valley is 55% Hispanic and 23% Asian/pacific islander.
No exactly the most accommodating community for the alphabets.

No, this sort of thing shouldn't even be debatable. The government is not the parent of our children.

PedoHank and his boyfriend SlowFag will be along shortly to defend this while insisting they aren’t defending it

So wait a minute, a student can't even take OTC medication at school without a parent's consent, but if they want to start changing their gender and find a way to start taking hormones its perfectly fine?

For instance, Gene shows up to school, goes in the restroom and applies makeup and emerges for the day as Jean.
The District wanted to inform the parents. Apparently state law says that the District cannot do so.
It is entirely reasonable to feel that this state law reflects poor policy, but suggesting that the judge be lynched for enforcing that law is just ... childish.
