That’s how it works. There is no basis for progressive beliefs. They are by default always progressing/changing. At some point most find themselves as the focus of the mobs outrage as what’s “right” or “wrong” shifts with the groups collective thinking.

It’s how socialism progresses into communism. The once upon a time leader is overthrown (usually killed) by a more radical version, only to be cast aside (usually killed) for a more ruthless, “progressive” model. No one is ever radical enough. The entire model is jerked further and further left. Happens every time
