By the way, I don't think it would be CBS getting sued. It would be the production company that produced the show.

Steven Colbert can now start filling in for the lesbo who dresses like a man on MSNBC.

He has that fricked up ear. He needs the other one like that to match. A few good punches should do it.

It was a joke about the Peanuts theme, Nobody’s paying a bunch of money. It was “fair use” under copyright law. You guys really are desperate for something to post…

can honestly say that i never watched 1 episode of his show the whole time it was airing.
Same. I gave up on all late night tv years ago. Never watched Kimmel or any of the other ones either.

It sounds like you're suggesting that his performances for cbs were largely money-driven.
For my money there was too much of his raw enthusiasm for that to have been the case. The man is just another failed nutcase.
Your points are fair. I really think it's a mixture of both.
I think Colbert actually began as more of a "moderate" leftist, but the longer he spent around the liberal Hollywood elites and big network executives in their echo chambers and money bins, the more their perverse ideologies slowly consumed him. He certainly did become a highly enthusiastic Republican-hate machine, I wouldn't argue that. I just remember watching him and being highly entertained in his early days, and he was very different back then.
I really used to like the guy. Now, he's just another failed shills, that fell due to being utterly consumed by highly partisan ideology.
Money is truly the root of all evil.

During the final episode of The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert purposely used copyrighted music during a segment, a move that could potentially cost his former bosses at CBS a lot of dough if the music was unauthorized, and the usage were to end in a lawsuit.
David Letterman did a whole bit on this about some Eagles music he wanted to play.
If you watch the clip, they talk about how CBS has some music under license and the some that come under BMI with restrictions. Like they could play a Disney song, but it could only be done if it was associated with a promotional segment about that movie.
So Dave finally gave up, but the producers had a back up CBS had a song in their library under license that sounded similar to an Eagles song.

He was pretty good friends with Toby Keith and was very respectful when Keith passed away.

Towards the end, he was definitely only mildly going after Dims with kids gloves.
But as soon as he landed at XiBS, it was 100% Progressive-Marxist mode and 100% anti-anything-conservative.
He made a public statement when he took the late show job, that he knew he couldn’t keep the same political slant and shtick that he used on his CC show. Then he made it worse.
The only reason he lasted as long as he did is because CBS was willing to sink big money into the show to have that slant broadcast.
