The cops probably pieced it together from the eyewitness reports (and possibly video) we haven't been able to see yet. Someone there likely leaked it to someone at Brown, thus they take down the glowing review of the student before word hits the street.

Or they are slow walking releasing the information hoping the public will forget that 2 other Islamic terrorist attacks happened that same day as well: US troops ambushed in Syria and innocent Australian Jews being gunned down on a beach. Almost like it was potentially coordinated
