As they should be.

Is economic collapse (not depression, collapse) worth saving 50000 lives? 100000 lives?

Probably not since economic collapse would kill hundreds of millions

I believe you are correct. Source below. PDF available at link. 66 pages. I scanned relevant section and it looks to be due to inflammation, stasis, and endothelial dysfunction. Not sure how severe his case was but would guess it was advanced if this is outcome.

Anyone who is extremely sick can have blood clotting issues. It’s called DIC (disseminated intravascular coagulation) which can happen from infection, trauma, or cancer. He either has that because he is so severely sick from the virus or it’s a complication of ECMO or possibly pressor medications he is on.

Either way, the entire first page is trying to discredit his illness or joke about his wife. I think the denial And attacks have been ratcheted up significantly because he appears to be a pretty healthy 41 year old on deaths door.

Pretty sick if you ask me.

Someone on twitter said this:

“To spell it our for everyone. When you get sick like this, it is not uncommon to need to be on drips like levophed, epi, dopamine, etc. These drugs raise blood pressure by shunting blood away from non viral areas, i.e. toes fingers legs etc.
When you are on these medications at high doses, or long periods of time, those non vital areas first turn grey, then mottled, then gangrenous. It can happen in a matter of days. I have seen it more times than I can count. Most likely his kidneys are probably toast too. Very sad”

So it was the medication not coronavirus

That is the hospital’s fault, not CV19.

Why is this even a story on any media outlet?

Im not saying they shouldn't be. I'm not saying total shutdown was correct. I'm telling the previous poster why there are responses that are in poor taste.

Hence D-dimer is questionable in sensitivity and specificity.

Yes these are “pressors”

The medication is keeping him alive. Without the medication and the huge machine artificially putting oxygen back in his blood he would be dead. The medication is necessary to keep his blood pressure high enough so that he doesn’t die. It’s sacrificing his extremities to keep blood going to his brain and vital organs.

All because of CORONAVIRUS.
It’s not some conspiracy.

complications from coronavirus... or complications with an underlying issue.

Sounds like an underlying issue to me.

There is literally no evidence of an underlying issue, I just explained the mechanism to you.

How is your bias not extremely obvious to you?

I knew this place had gone off the rails but I didn’t think the next talking point would be full on denial.
