This is one of my best friends, Sgt. Lonny Wells.
Lonny is carrying the black pack. Bullets were flying. Everyone is returning fire. Gunnery Sgt. Ryan Shane is the guy trying to pull Lonny to cover. Lonny was already dead. The sniper hit Gunny also. He lived.
Falluja, Iraq
The anniversary of Lonny’s death is coming up on 11/09. Drink a stiff one in his memory, if so inclined. If you want to know the rest of the story:
