this is the argument that I will make with the powers that be for putting the Q thread as a bottom sticky locked thread for people to read
the Q thread is a look into the past, that is potentially becoming more relevant here and now
as far as board management, the real heroes are TD ownership. they gave the Q thread the space to allow it to breath for three years. That being said, there was a level of lunacy and weirdness in it that was sort of tough to process sometimes. We also saw an increase in "outside forces" popping into the Q thread and stirring things up.
When some of the general themes of the Q thread potentially made TD.com a target for attention from Gov regulators, it was a business decision to pull it down. That was a strange time
After seeing what the Government and MSM actually did during COVID, the way they covered the "QANON" stuff from 2017 to 2022 seems quaint by comparison.

Does anyone else remember the time that an "Austin Steinbart" account popped up in the Q thread and created a tizzy amongst the faithful about whether or not he was the "real" Austin Steinbart, who claimed to be Q who had been time-travelling and posting the Q-drops from the future (via quantum computing tech he had gotten via military intel of course)?

Are you talking about Boosie? The issue with the Q thread was that anyone that dared to challenge the omnipotent Q got shredded. Posters ganged up on anyone that challenged all the incorrect shite that was posted over the years.
Even today, you're seeing that in this thread and the other one.

That wasn’t the problem. That’s par for the course here.
The problem was anyone questioning Q got outright banned. If the idea is to keep all Q-related topics in one thread, where do those who don’t agree with it but still want to discuss it as it is dominating a subset of political discourse go?
We couldn’t make our standalone threads and literally got banned for posting anything questioning it in the main thread.
It was super gay and lame but eventually it just wasn’t my decision to make and I had to live with it.
ETA: I will say this for the powers that be who may be contemplating firing it back up…. The new tools we have now with alerts to responses to posts and being able to see all responses to a post are really helpful for only focusing on the convos you want to. I don’t think you have the same danger of there just being seventeen different convos going at once and posters getting bamboozled by the sheer volume. The new tools implemented since then are nice for being to organize only convos you want to have

I did a few times (or at least explicit instructions to stop). I didn't poke them quite as much as Boosie, though.

no there were real bad guys popping into that thread, we had a noticeable increase in anti-semitism and white supremacy types in the thread and on the PTB. An increase in Serbian, Croatian and Ukrainian IPs etc

yeah so the Q topics wouldn't spill over into the rest of the PTB
just like the OT has a Ukraine thread and they are left alone. Go in that thread and start telling them they are all wrong and see what happens

If the Q thread popped back on here, chicken would need to buy an extra hamster to run the place. I would expect traffic to spike, even if read only.
