I have no problem with this business doing this. Good for them. However, I would not be going to said business. Freedom is great.

Well there are people who haven't gotten covid and still haven't gotten the vaccine

If they want the vaccine, then THEY should get it. I don't understand this argument about vaccines.

Covidians: "Get a vaccine"
Me: "Why"
Covidians: "Because it's deadly"
Me: "It has a 99.6% and higher survivability rate if you get it."
Covidians: "Not for those that are immunocompromised"
Me: "Then shouldn't they get it, then?"
Covidians: "You can still catch Covid if you're vaccinated"
Me: "Then what's the point of the vaccination"?
Covidians: "It lessens the symptoms"
Me: "So it's not a vaccine, it's treatment?"
Covidians: "Yes"
Me: "So is hydroxychloroquine and vitamin D"
Covidians: "Nuh uh, that's just stupid thing Trump said"
Me: "I guess you don't keep up with current events"

That's the only way these idiots might learn to stop the constant push towards "OBEY THE GOVERNMENT" from the left.

Have you thought that maybe it's not some weird "obey the government" thought, but rather, that the business owners think people getting vaccinated is both a smart health decision, as well as a means to get people more comfortable with going out and socializing in crowds again?

You can't use outdated nonsense if you're going to play the keep up with current events game.

I’ll be happy when 85% of these “breweries” go under.

Get the damn vaccine!
Your employer will give you 2 days off for sick leave due to side effects.

Get the damn virus!

If I get the vaccine, I can't get sick, right?
Nope, you can still get the virus and kill grandma. But if you do get it, you'll only be sick a little. Maybe.
But if I get the virus, I may not even know I had it?
Yeah, but... grandma.

Just show up and show your proof of vaccination via your vaccination card or the LA Wallet app and we’ll give you $1 off on every 16oz pint you buy for the rest of June.

Can it though? Just like any virus, some are more susceptible than others. We don't treat the flu like this.

quote:

Yes, I know that serious long term complications are rare. But serious complications from the vaccine are even more rare.

Why get a vaccine for something i've already had? Why not let individuals make their own choices? The vaccine is pretty widely available to anyone, FOR FREE, in this country. Therefore, personal responsibility should take over. If you want the vaccine, get it. If you don't, don't get it. Anyone that might be vulnerable, and is worried about the virus, THEY THEMSELVES should get the vaccine. It's moronic to demand others to get a vaccine because someone else lives in fear.

quote:

But it's at the very least equally odd that so many are skeptical of the vaccine based on the real world results of the vaccine.

Why get a vaccine for something i have built up immunities for? We, as a country, have reached herd immunity. There is no longer a logical reason to keep pushing this vaccine. 1) If you caught china flu, you have immunities. 2) If you got the vaccine, you have immunities. So what are we doing this for, still?

I'm not getting this vaccine, personally. And it should end there. But, if you must know why, 1) i'm pretty sure i've had Covid already 2) i'm in good health, excercise regularly, and i'm not getting vaccinated for something with a 99+% survivability rate. 3) This vaccine has not gone through all of the FDA trials. So even if i wanted the vaccine, i'll just wait for the FDA full approval. 4) I may still have another kid. There have been NO long term studies on the possible affects the covid vaccine may have on child birth. And before you say, "yes there has". Factually, no there has not. The vaccine has been widespread and available to people of birthing age for how many months? 4/5? What is the human gestation period? I'm not taking that vaccine if i plan to have another kid. My wife isn't taking that vaccine if we plan to have another kid. My wife's dr. advised her not to get the vaccine if she plans on having another kid. I would, under NO CIRCUMSTANCES, inject my children with this vaccine, why would i inject my wife, or myself, if i plan to get have another child?

There's an entire thread, now 2 pages, where you can read and find out. Hell, just read past the quoted portion of my OP.

Jiminy cripes. A private business is offering a discount for something they feel is important, and you make them sound like the Gestapo.

The right is on path to be just as idiotic as the left has been since 2016.

Yes, 100%.

I've said form the jump the reaction to this virus has been absurd.

quote:

Why get a vaccine for something i've already had?

I'm not telling you to do that
quote:

Why not let individuals make their own choices?

I'm not advocating for forcing anyone to do anything.

Why are you repeating yourself?
quote:

I'm not getting this vaccine, personally. And it should end there.

For me it does. You are 1200% ok to make whatever decision you think is best for you. Your reasoning isn't all that great though.

And i was responding how you said it's "equally odd those that are skeptical of the vaccine". That's called a discussion. I don't find rational decisions to be more odd than this creepy push from beer makers wanting to know your medical history or dangling a carrot so you get your government injection to get $1/off pints. That's my opinion, feel free to disagree.

I find the people that absolutely won't take the vaccine and give frankly silly reasons for it to be equally ridiculous as those pushing it like religion

That is your inference, not mine. I stated it was creepy and strange that a brewery, people who make beer, is pushing this. We don't see a "show us your meningitis vaccine for half off appetizers" or "show us your measles vaccine and we'll valet your parking". That would be universally described as weird.
