When law enforcement brings a regular warrant (search warrant, arrest warrant, Title 3 wire tap application, etc.) to a judge for signature, there’s never a hearing. Unless a FISA warrant has different procedures, this is not surprising to me.

A fisa Warrant has different rules because you are spying on a US citizen.. The judge is suppose to have a hearing to in essence to make sure the government have facts of the case correct... Seems we have a total failure of government to protect the citizen. Seems Rand Paul has been right all along...

I’m terribly confused.

Forgive me.

Couple of questions:

1. If there was no official hearing, is that a violation of the FISA application protocol?

2. If there being no hearing is OK and it was informally brought to a FISA judge, shouldn’t there at least be record of the FISA application that includes the PC used to obtain the warrant?

the Carter Page warrant is the weakest spot in the FBI's conduct it doesn't bode well for the fruit of the poisonous tree hopes a lot of people around here are hanging their hopes on.

Why would we have to hang our hats on it? Nothing has come close to implicating trump in anything. Still, you should be appalled by the abuse of process here. You are too smart to be ok with that. Aren’t you?

if protocol was not followed that would make the warrants invalid and everything that happened because of those warrants as well...

13. Accordingly, NSD FOIA consulted with the Office of Intelligence, whose subject matter experts are familiar with these types of records generally and specifically familiar with the proceedings related to Carter Page. Id. ¶¶ 13-14. Those supervisors reviewed their records and confirmed that, as is typical in proceedings before the FISC, no hearings were held with respect to the acknowledged Carter Page FISA applications, and thus no responsive transcripts exist
