Auditing is an important part of this process. Especially for future improvements and restore faith. I believe there are already audit procedures in place but I'm way less familiar with those than the election process at this point in time.

I could be wrong, but I think it's a recount that's already in place. An audit isn't just a recount.

You're getting into "too big to fail" territory. It's going to take a judge with some big brass balls to expose election fraud large enough to impact the outcome, and they'll need even bigger ones to order a do-over.

The left knows this, of course.

To me the key here is what we define as an audit especially when throwing around terms like full forensic audit. I'm not sure what all that entails. This was some info about previous Maricopa county audit i found.

Every county is supposed to perform an small hand audit for every election to make sure the results from the machines are the same as the hand count. The precincts are chosen at random by members of both parties and they are present for the hand count.

That's just a count; it does nothing about ballots that were fraudulent.

Call it whatever you want, but the law itself uses the word "audit" 15 times. They compare the results by hand to the tabulators to make sure the machines are counting properly. Obviously there are other procedures in place for 'fraudulent ballots.'

I’m just describing it accurately. It’s an audit of the count, not an audit of the election as a whole.

That's fine. We can just identify what an real audit should be. At a minimum it should match signatures/ID to a ballot, and a ballot to a vote that reflects the voter's intent. I would suggest that it should also verify the voter.

That's illegal under Arizona law as it would identify voters to their vote and Arizona law requires that to be anonymous.

This is 100% a lie. The signatures are on the envelope and not on the ballot. And, they are separated.

I'll never understand why people lie to make a point when the lie is easily proven.

That's not nearly enough.

The scope of the audit should be up to the challengers. And, it should follow a transparent election process that can produce chain of custody documentation that all support the outcome.

The SOS opposing audits and trying to not release information isn't a good thing.

Hiding behind semantics.

What is needed is an audit of the entire system...not just an audit of the tabulators. Valid voters, valid ballots, valid signatures, chain of custody, tabulation, etc.

Here in EBR we sign “the book”. In Arizona they sign each ballot?

We e-sign a pad if voting in person and sign the envelope if voting by mail/drop-off.

We have two people that verify your signature in early voting and day off.
I don’t know how we do mail in though.

Does someone verify the E sign?

In theory someone could harvest signed envelopes and insert ballots themselves.

I don't know for sure, but can say that after I signed in (my handwriting is scribbling), an election worker came over and asked for ID and asked a few questions before I got the green light to go get my printed ballot.

I wouldn’t think the E sigs would be all that legible. At least someone is there checking ID

Agree. Hopefully the ID checkers were very busy.
