If we know where they are going to launch from, MOAB the area. That may be enough to shut Kim up for awhile. Kim's media can tell his people it was a malfunction on the pad. We can say we didn't know if the ICBM was armed or not.

Anything less than a full-out response is going to get Seoul shelled and thousands of innocent people killed. There's still a good chance of that happening WITH a full on response, but at least with that, the artillery on the DMZ can be taken out and the damage minimized.

This is like a guy gets out a mental hospital and moves down the street from you and for some odd reason just hates you. Never met the guy but he just hates you and your family. He gives you evil looks every day. He can't by law own or buy a gun but he says he will shoot you and your family one day. He makes the threats over and over. He then starts to build a gun in his garage. It takes time. Years of testing. He tests his bullets in the back yard. The tests and progress grow over time. His threats get bolder and stronger. His completion of bullets and the gun are almost final. He claims he has successfully tested the bullets with the gun and is conin to get you and your family.

I still think this is just saber rattling - he wants to show off to his people and show that he is a strong military man. Unlike his father and grandfather he has no military experience so he needs his people to think that he is capable or he might have to face a military coup.
Also, by doing this he gets to use our media against us for his own benefit. We get all worked up like Chicken Little and when he comes back to the table the world gives him more concessions.
I have no doubt that Obama/Killary would've given him more money or food or whatever just to keep the peace, as would most of the world. However, it is possible that Trump might tell him to sod off and he'll have to cower down.
This will not come to war. I just don't see it. Kim may be a power hungry dictator, but he's also well educated and compared to his father and grandfather he's somewhat progressive.
