re: Bragg Hid Nearly 600 Pages of Exculpatory Evidence from NY Grand Jury in Trump Case

The end game is not a conviction, it’s a narrative. The DA isn’t in any danger of ruining his career on a case he knows has zero merit and he’s very likely to loose. If anything the democrat party will make sure he’s well taken care of by nominating him for any number of legal positions at the state and federal level. Dems simply want a photo op of Trump being perp walked and a bonus of DeSantis being fool enough to send state troopers to arrest him.

This gets close
quote:
The prosecutor literally gets to present whatever case he/she wants.
In NY, the GJ can request additional witnesses are called and different evidence is submitted
The DA can apply to the court to have those requests quashed, but lacks the authority to unilaterally control the evidence before the tribunal
It’s not a “case”. The DA represents the people in evaluating the need to indict or file a prosecutorial statement
Other posters have already mentioned the perversion, namely your assertion on “getting indictments. You could spin any one of your statements to show some truthful content; however, that avoids the thematic element of most comments that are adverse to the specific process
In this instance, a fact witness has alleged that they made a comment about 600 pages of exculpatory evidence presented to the DA. Based on this report, neither the DA nor the tribunal, has appeared to present or ask for that information. We don’t have any present information of whether the DA or court has instructed the tribunal on its lawful right to ask for that information
Even if someone would grant that the perversion of the process was endemic even in NY that does not diminish the concerns on the information being withheld or alter the GJs right to request and the DAs duty to advise
Most important, it’s fairly moot. Complaints are based on the equity of the event not on obscure permissible procedures, whether literal or otherwise.

In a trial who knows what will happen. The district voted 80% for Biden. According to libs, Biden voters voted against Trump not for Biden.
They say that a jury in NYC would vote to convict Trump for assassinating JFK.

My biggest concern is the ethical obligation of a prosecutor to investigate a crime or potential crime and for evidence to be provided to a grand jury to indict.
If you are given 600 pages of the exculpatory evidence and refused to at least provide it to the grand jury you are bastardizing the process of a fair and impartial grand jury which goes against your ethical obligation as an attorney and further degrade the system.
Given Eliot Spitzer's conduct in the past this is certainly no surprise for New York .
