Okay, parents. Do you tell your sons to be a strong man, or do you tell them to be respectful of women and try to prevent accusations of rape/assault/etc?

I'm not sure being respectful is enough.

I’ll bite... I want my sons to be strong. I want them to stand up for what they believe. I don’t want them to be weak. If men are abbusive especially to women or children that is no sign of strength.

I want for my sons to have a strong sexual ethic. I want them to respect women, not because it will prevent accusations, but because it is the right thing to do. I want them to live their lives only worried about what God thinks not what man thinks.

I don't have sons--as of yet.

I have nephews and male cousins. I tell them to respect women, to watch your surroundings, but also to be responsible for your actions.

We taught our boys the difference between right and wrong, to be respectful and to be humble. Everything else will take care of itself.

We are reaching my niece to stand up for herself. A little boy at school took her toy; she punched him and took her toy back. He hasn’t done that again.

Or?

Seriously? It's one or the other to you?
