We have troops all over Africa
and most likely there are some green berets in that area.

I think you know you're talking out your arse. We were ready to send troops to Syria. The troops are available. There would be no public outrage for supporting the Nigeria govt in a limited capacity. But I honestly don't think much support is needed. Maybe provide some surveillance via drones, etc. I think this brutality will not win over the local populous and will be ousted in a number of months.

As long as it stays in the north, not much. Oil production is primarily in the delta and offshore. There is fear that boko haram may spread and join the larger militancy in the sahal region. But so far it hasn't moved outside of the boarders of Nigeria other than for training and weapons.

You can't be serious?
The most powerful military force on the planet is to tired to go after Boko?
If thats the case just shut the whole military down. Boko is too much for us now because Bush did it. Girls must die because Bush wore out our military

"Park of me wants to feel bad. The other part of me is sure this has been happening for a very long time, and wonders why we only care now. What is this drawing my attention from?"
A bit of unsolicited advice: try not to succumb to this feeling. With all of the causes and injustices in the world, you learn of them, well, when you learn of them, and your motivations for getting behind a particular cause may be more emotional or personal than purely logical. But the cause may well be just all the same. In my view, bringing pressure to bear on Boko Haram is worthwhile now even if it should have been done before.

Why are you posting about this in online media? You need to shut up. You should take some real action instead.
You can start by complaining about people using Twitter to raise awareness. If you want to affect real change in the world, that is where to begin.

It's all good now. We are putting boots on the ground!

They are staying in Chad for now, but I'm sure they could quickly be moved next door.

I absolutely agree with you.
An aside... I'm just tired of being Team America: World Police. Yea, this is horrible. Let the UN deal with it. Monitor the situation, put them on a watch list, and wake me up when we get an indication that they are planning an attack against American interests. I'm not up for putting the lives of American soldiers on the line for this.

They are laughing in our face because Brother Hussein will not dare hit them and they know it.
Want to see the end of Obama? It is coming elsewhere in Africa. There is about to be a open civil war in Libya and we have not evacuated our embassy in Tripoli.
Now if some bright boy hits our embassy there what do you suppose will happen? This time they have 250 Marines on standby but is that enough?

I have to agree with this. We'll eventually leave and they'll probably do this start doing this regularly once they know they can get something out of it.

I just like the fact that in the midst of a series if major media race baits, a bunch of black guys kidnapped some girls and enslaved them, not 200 years ago, but LAST MONTH.
I thought only the evil white man did stuff like that.
