Bob Dole helped to his feet to salute Bush

Dole was ancient 20 years ago when he was doing Viagra commercials.

He was an old man in 1996 when he ran for office and shook my hand. He has only gotten older since.

For movie buffs, Bob Dole now looks like an aging Humphrey Bogart. Bogart didn't live as long but that's what he looked like in his last years.

Does Bob have any relationship to the Dole Pineapple plantation?

I saw this when it happened. I was impressed. I was never a real big fan but what I saw today was admirable. We would be better off if more Americans had his strength of character.

Very true about the rivalry.

SNL did one of their funniest skits ever spoofing a 1988 Republican Debate. Dan Ackroyd played Dole, Carvey as Bush. They also had characters playing Pat Robertson, Jack Kemp, and Pete DuPont. Dole and Bush go at it back and forth during the entire skit. It cracks me up no matter how many times I see it.
