To be fair, anything electronic is going to lead to mistrust. I feel the way about this as I do about Bitcoin. You guys will say it's 100% secure and I don't understand it. You may be right. But, the paranoid among us will always think there is a backdoor or something that can be hacked/corrupted. I guess if it's open source and everyone can see what it's about, maybe that is a step in the right direction. But, a Diebold/ES&S/Dominion proprietary product? Forget it.

Exactly what the founders, you know the white men who made this country, we’re trying to avoid. Pretty much in real time they were validated in their decision as the world witnessed France go to “true democracy“. The bloody revolution nearly got completely out of hand and ruined France. Instead it only got mostly out of hand.

If everyone can see and verify their own vote on a ledger and every vote is verified, that is accountability, right?

Yeah, I agree, its not about the level of technology, people can corrupt anything, and anything that works will be given a bad wrap.

These 2 things do not go together. Only a complete fricking retard would want direct democracy.

So rural people would face increased taxes just to keep the urban shitholes running. We already have this (see: Seattle) but this would let them run amok.

It’s already happening. Look up Vast token and Votem. Also West Virginia is testing it with military voting.

Why can't we have both blockchain and a republic?

The majority of people, sadly, are too stupid to vote on everything.

Naw, ... who needs blockchain when simpler methods have survived for a century ......
