IMO they should find some Civil War reenactments and combine the two. Make it a real party. Both groups are just as dumb.

They can’t let it go, victim hood.
My mother picked cotton in North Louisiana and was white as snow, it’s what people did back then.

Should include a side celebration of Eli Whitney, John Deere and International Harvester.

Lot of my folks picked cotton. We still have some of the bags they used to pick it.

Yea my Cajun grandmother used to tell me about her hands swelling up from picking so much cotton in Rayne. She had 11 brothers and sisters, and my grandad had 9. Both told me how they and their siblings went to school only long enough to learn to read and write, then dropped out to pick cotton and work.

At a certain point you have to think that they are actually glad it happened.

If they really picked cotton as slaves, they would not be so fat. These slaves get to go to McDonald's....alot!

Whites need a holiday memorializing their victimization by black crime.

All my uncles picked cotten. Hell one of them couldn't read and still got drafted to Korea. Times was tough back then

My grandfather lied about his age and joined the army right before turning 17. He was sent to Korea as a 17-year-old. Was paid $50 every two weeks IIRC. Kept $10 for himself since the army covered his living costs and sent the $40 back to his parents to help feed his younger brothers and sisters.

Dad had to quit school in the 6th grade in South Arkansas. Picking cotton was just one responsibility he had. It took all 11 kids to work the crops to put food on the table.
Eventually graduating college
RIP

when i was a kid, i had to go out and pick purplehull peas. bushels of them. then when we got home,us kids had to shell those peas. i sure felt exploited but they were good to eat along with those vine ripe tomatoes.
