I would not have expected anything less than that. It starts at home, school and we are too far gone. Our public school system stinks so bad and it is part of the blame for this insane stat.

know we were beefing the other day but I appreciate your critical approach to data.

Truth matters to me, if I believe something, then I should be willing to look honestly at the data.

It always does drive me crazy though when I can't make logical sense of other peoples positions lol.

But so is the fact there was apparently no attempted follow up during the ensuing two decades, either there or here.

There was no follow up because any researcher with integrity and/or training understands that type of study can’t be done in a way that is both ethical and valid. If you can think of a method to do the study to be both ethical and valid, I’d love to hear it.

ETA: I did a quick google scholar search and found these:

The effects of defendant race, victim race, and juror gender on evidence processing in a murder trial (Australia 2007)

Race and the decision making of juries (2007)

Uncovering juror racial bias (2018)

12 Racist Men: Post-Verdict Evidence of Juror Bias

I haven’t read these. O linked the first several unique studies in the search results. There are pages and pages of studies.

@bbonds25 if you ever happen to see this, some of these might be relevant for a literature review.

You do it like any survey.

With the question raised, and your rejection of it, you seem to be discounting ethical and valid jury verdicts.

Poor persecuted white men just can’t catch a break.
if a sitting member of congress were saying black men should be profiled and monitored, what would be your reaction? Just give a honest answer for once.

There is a problem where we aren't asking about how they felt but how they voted, in an actual court case.

Case 1
Black person votes guilty on black accused.
Do they admit that they put one of their own away, or lie about it.

Case 2 white person votes guilty on black accused, same question.

In our society it's far more easy to lie that one didn't put a black man away in prison.

Jury privacy is the best protection of impartiality.
Consider how many black people are put away with felonies.
Their crimes are heavily in black areas and heavily black juries put them away.

As much as people hate my statement the British Black immigrants were completely different from American Black people.

This graphic did not call out it's source, which puts its intent as suspicious.

Solutions need to be based on firm data about relevant populations.

So relying on self-reports? That's not valid data.

First of all, if you truly believe I'm not being honest in my posts - what is my end game? To get strangers to be assholes to me on the internet for funsies? It wouldn't even make sense.

I'd ask him what his TD user name is.

My page 7 opinion is that there should be a jury pool that does not see the defendant until the verdict is delivered. Perhaps the facts of the case should be deliberated by the DA and defense and the facts delivered to the jury blindly. Would be curious to see how jurors of each race react in that scenario. While this is not entirely possible due to evidence conveying the suspect frequently, it would be an interesting study anyways.

There was a murder in New Orleans in 2021. I testified in the murder trial as a witness. A black man murdered a white man.

There was no question about what happened, it was captured in total on 3 separate video cameras from 3 different distances. The black man was the clear aggressor. The white guy tried to defend himself without hurting the black guy.

It was senseless and as cut and dried as it gets. The closest witness would not testify at all, she was black.

Despite all the evidence, it was a hung jury. One of the jurors would not find him guilty no matter what evidence was presented.

Not even sure how that happens but it happened.
