It’s not an excuse. It’s an explanation for why so many black Americans havent been able to accumulate wealth or achieve middle class status.
The reality is that very few if any posters here have bothered to learn anything about the systemic oppression of the descendants of slaves by the federal government. It’s just ignorance and instead of being curious and trying to learn something, these same people act like they are being personally insulted when I suggest that destroying a person’s home and not allowing them to purchase a new one or find employment could be detrimental to lineages for generations.

Why do you think black people are incapable of lifting themselves up, if they want to? It’s extremely racist of you to continue to insist they can’t do this themselves and need to be taken care of, by you, like helpless animals. Do you have a job? Do you actually speak to or work with any black people currently being oppressed ? Racist fat count

It's difficult to accumulate wealth when you don't save because you live for the moment due to lack of impulse control and inability to delay gratification.

No we didn't.
My ancestors were in Europe during slavery.
By 1920 it was black Americans who refused to keep their money and investments in non black banks.
That's why they all kept losing their money till 1989 with FIRREA.
They moved into the worst areas of northern cities.
Those cities were going to get redlined.
It's an urban legend that it was strictly a black problem.
We fcked them over with bussing in spite of Kamalas recollections, something they asked for.
But thats the rub, they asked for all these policies since 1960 that have done no good after trillions of investments.
Money will not solve the issues of the black community.
You know that it's been 60 years since any legal oppression. No one born after 1960 has faced legal oppression.
Justifying the sick obsession with victimhood pushes an infantile behavior on people.
It harms them like nothing else.

I was in Walmart and heard a black woman yelling on her phone to her friend about food stamps, something about “it’s about the MONEY.”
Yeah. I’m sure she’d do a whole lot with that reparation check.
Then they’ll still cry racism every chance they get. It’ll never be enough. Honestly, it might be best to just bite the bullet and give them money to blow on fake eyelashes and dodge chargers. I think at that point when they blow through their money no one will listen anymore when they whine.

The federal government has been the biggest supporters of black people since 1863.
Freedmans bureau.
FDR opening federal employment
Truman desegregating the military
Eisenhower desegregating schools
Again Hoover gets a bad rap over red lines.
Those were bad areas.

They don’t want to work.
They rent instead of buy.
They eat fast food every meal.
They buy drugs. And guns.
They are materialistic. Lease a car above their means, rims and sound systems to boot. $150 sneakers in every color, excessive designer wardrobe, gotta have a hat to match too. Jewelry, grills, 85” TV for their gaming consoles.
The government fell short on post-war reconstruction. That was 160 years ago. Blacks have spent 160 years not equipping themselves to contribute to society, in order to advance within that society. There’s no wealth accumulation or middle class status because their entitlement culture means they expect everything to be handed to them - Exhibit A.: Reparations; Exhibit B.: DEI. Leeching on society isn’t going to advance them in that society.
The government has given ample opportunity. Jobs over more qualified whites, education and programs with diminished barriers to entry versus whites, and everything else they can just cry racism in order to receive. It’s easier to be a black person, yet they’re stagnant and doing nothing with it.
You don’t get black or any other fatigued sleeping till noon every day.
