Give it up. The morons refuse to acknowledge Gates’ generosity much less how much effort he put in to ensure it was spent to help the most.

That is why we need to get kids back to school.
Roughly 100X more kids die of child abuse per year than have died of CV19. Without schools as an alert mitigator, those fatalities will climb.

I realize it's a Sisyphusian point. Just over-caffeinated and bored this morning.

Maybe the teachers are doing this because they don’t trust themselves around kids.
Can’t get caught fricking your students if you can’t meet them in person, I guess.

People asking about Gates' qualifications are missing the real point and interesting element of this story.
Yesterday. They completely censored a video that, had as one of its significant elements, THIS VERY POINT. That kids should be going back to school.
Then, today, Bill Gates says the same thing. Not scrubbed from internet.
THAT is a problem

Gates generosity is an interesting precept.
If Bill and Melinda died today and had the Gates Foundation never been formed, American taxpayers would see ~$85Billion added to the US revenue pool.
But the Gates Foundation was formed. Given its tax structure, if Bill and Melinda died today, American taxpayers would see roughly nothing added to revenue. As an indeterminately large amount of Gates Foundation money targets non-US interests, it is not clear how much money, if any, would flow back to US in any form.
Now you may feel it's Bill's money to spend as he likes. That's fine. But when he enjoys significant tax benefits, it’s also partly our money ... being spent as he likes. How generous is that?

And that $85 billion would be less than 0.1% of the proposed new HEALS act.

Yep, I realized that and deleted.

Probably worried if the schools are closed it will lead to more homeschooling and less brain washed tools for the left to use.

Yes, my opinion is Bill, you & I should be able to spend our after-tax income as we like.
And just because he chooses to fund things like malaria vaccines in Africa rather than a domestic cause, again it’s his right.
I think your opinion of Gates is 99% his political view and 1% his philanthropic view.

While I agree, Bill Gates needs to shut the frick up and run his company.

isnt it telling that you NEVER hear the left talk about:
economic destruction
spiking suicides
domestic violence
anxiety
depression
and other maladies associated with their lockdowns?

In fact, I have little opinion on Gates politics at all. I have a major problem with uncapped tax exemptions afforded to overseas investments, whether they be by Gates, the Kochs, the Waltons, Buffett, or Soros.

I agree (my wife (no pics) is a 1st grade teacher). However I would say if a school or district has high numbers of residents (non-students) hospitalized that they could consider doing school online.
Just the "hot spots" should take the extra precautions. Many areas have not been greatly affected so those should open up. I wouldn't even say an entire state (like NY) should shut school down, but if they have a county (or school district) with high numbers then if would probably be wise.

Bill has done a harsh 180 this past week.
The only thing I can thing of is he hated the bad press and people destroying him on social media.
He's a shill, but he's right
