“Our Constitution and our country is more important than any one person. I voted to convict President Trump because he is guilty,” said Dr. Cassidy.

He is right, 57 people voted that he was guilty 43 voted that he was not.
All that means is that there were not at least 10 more Republicans who were more concerned about getting re-elected than voting the obvious.
If you had a one on one conversation with those 43 republicans I would be surprised if more than 10 of them really thought Donald Trump was innocent.
Based on how it was laid out, the timeline, the tweets, the wording of his messages, the refusal to take any action right away... And to wait until at least an hour to put out a message to those who stormed the capital.. The fact he was being told his VP had to be securely removed from the floor.
The fact that some of the people arrested made statements along the lines of "I was just doing what my president told me to do". And don't give me the bullshite about "that was Antifa dressed like Trump supporters" because the Texas woman who went there in a private plane, who was arrested and then said she was expecting Trump was going to pardon her, the other woman who streamed live that they were in the Capitol. She is an owner of a floral shop in Texas and has since lost a lot of business... The 70 year old armed Bama guy.. Yeah, they are not Antifa.
I know all of you loyalist are blinded and you will aggressively disagree, but Trump was willing to do whatever he had to in order to remain president. January 6 was the last opportunity before it would become official.
If any of you knew how he really does operate, you would know he is willing to do anything to get what he wants.. And I think that he figured.. That on January 6... At the very least, he could slow up the process to hopefully at least delay the inauguration just so that he could at least remain president a little longer.
Cassidy is the type of politician that is needed. Someone who will vote on what is right and not put party first. And the comments in this thread is proof as to why politicians have to vote party lines, no matter what.
But just remember this for a time when YOU think a politician needs to vote for what is right and not along party lines. That's when all of you will show your hypocrisy.

If he believes this he’s an idiot.

Same guy who stood arm in arm with the governor last summer during one of JBE’s 1,000 unnecessary news conferences. Sadly, the Louisiana Republicans didn’t provide an alternative for the Senate race.

Alright my Louisiana friends, you guys need to get that A-hole out of office no matter what the cost. Since he votes as a democrat, it’s not really a loss if you have to suck it up and replace him with one for six years.
Us Florida Baws are going after little Marco Rubio.

Their job is to represent their constituents, especially on a vote of this importance. And they will rightly pay the price.
