Daily tracking polls are notoriously inaccurate with wild swings for no apparent reason

That link goes to a post that claims the Sec of War is campaigning Monday in KY.

During a war.

Yikes.

Further down AIPAC watch has a post showing chicken Ed’s MIGA donations are now over $15M.

That’s telling.

What the OP left out:

This is a poll conducted by Richard Baris, a Massie surrogate and an anti-Semite

@grok

Is Richard baris a Massie surrogate?

quote:

No, Richard Baris (Rich Baris, aka The People’s Pundit) is not an official Thomas Massie surrogate. newsweek.com He is a pollster and commentator who runs Big Data Poll. His firm has conducted and released multiple public polls for the Kentucky 4th Congressional District Republican primary showing Rep. Thomas Massie leading (or narrowly leading) his Trump-backed challenger Ed Gallrein. bigdatapoll.com Key Context: • Baris’s polls (e.g., Massie +1 to +5 points in recent tracking) have been cited in coverage of the race, and he has commented publicly on why Massie has staying power in the district (its “independent streak”). newsweek.com • Critics (especially pro-Trump/MAGA voices opposing Massie) accuse Baris of bias toward Massie, calling his polls overly favorable or part of a broader “Massie-aligned” circle that includes figures like Robert Barnes. Some label him part of a “Massie hit crew” or pro-Massie network. reddit.com • Baris is generally a right-leaning/pro-Trump pollster on many issues but has diverged from Trump on topics like foreign policy/regime change, which aligns with Massie’s views. facebook.com A surrogate in politics usually means an official or semi-official campaign representative who speaks for the candidate at events, in media, or fundraising. Baris doesn’t fit that—he’s an independent pollster whose work happens to benefit Massie in this cycle. His involvement appears professional (polling) and ideological (shared skepticism of certain interventions or establishment moves), not as a formal campaign operative. Massie has appeared on shows with Baris, but that’s common for politicians and commentators. rumble.com In short: Baris is a sympathetic pollster and commentator, not a campaign surrogate.??????????????????????????????????????????????????

@grok

Is Richard Baris an anti-Semite?

quote:

No, Richard Baris (Rich Baris, The People’s Pundit) is not reasonably classified as an anti-Semite. @peoples_pundit Evidence and Context Anti-Semitism classically involves hatred or prejudice against Jews as a people/ethnicity/religion — tropes like dual loyalty, global control conspiracies, blood libels, Holocaust denial, or explicit calls for harm. Baris does not exhibit this pattern based on public statements and actions. • Polling on Jewish voters and Israel: Baris has conducted and highlighted polls showing shifts among American Jews (e.g., closer Trump support in 2024 due to Biden/Harris “anti-Israel policies”). He has noted dissatisfaction with Democratic handling of Israel and antisemitism on the left. Jewish outlets like Algemeiner, JNS, and Jerusalem Post have cited his work neutrally or positively in this context. jns.org • Foreign policy criticism: He strongly opposes

U.S. entanglement in Middle East wars (e.g., Iran/Israel conflicts), arguing they hurt MAGA/Trump’s America First agenda, drain resources, and alienate younger voters. He frames declining sympathy for Israel (especially among younger Republicans) as driven by perceptions of “genocide in Gaza,” excessive influence (“Israel First”), and foreign aid priorities over domestic issues. This is paleoconservative isolationism, shared with figures like Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, and some libertarians — not unique to him. yahoo.com • Zeldin/Optics comment: Critics highlight his suggestion that Trump pick a “White Christian man” for AG over someone like Lee Zeldin (Jewish), citing optics and avoiding “Jewish influence” conspiracy fuel. This is tone-deaf and plays into dual-loyalty stereotypes. It is fair criticism of poor judgment or pandering to the isolationist base, but one statement does not equate to anti-Semitism. facebook.com He has acknowledged antisemitism in the modern Democratic Party/left and has not been linked to neo-Nazi, white nationalist, or traditional anti-Jewish groups. His critiques target Israeli government actions, lobbying (AIPAC), neocons, and U.S. policy — common in America First circles — rather than Jews collectively. @peoples_pundit

Why the Accusation? Pro-Israel voices (especially neoconservatives or “Israel First” advocates in MAGA) label strong opposition to U.S. aid, wars, or perceived influence as antisemitic. This is a common rhetorical move to equate policy disagreement with bigotry (similar to how some on the left label all Israel criticism as such). Baris’s polling shows real trends in declining GOP sympathy for Israel among younger voters, which fuels the backlash. youtube.com Bottom line: Baris is a pollster/commentator with a strong America First, anti-interventionist bent that puts him at odds with pro-Israel hawks. That makes him controversial and, to some, “anti-Israel” — but it does not make him an anti-Semite. Conflating the two dilutes the term. Reasonable people can (and do) disagree sharply on U.S.-Israel policy without ethnic/religious hatred.??????????????????????????????????????????????????

Typical tactic from you people.

A surrogate in politics is an individual who publicly speaks or campaigns on behalf of a candidate or elected official to promote, defend, or explain their positions.

I don't think surrogate is the right word but having a podcast who openly supports a campaign / using the word surrogage isn't much of a stretch.

Given his past support and organization, Massie will probably get reelected, which for MAGA is akin to a Democrat win.

The Secretary of War campaigning for a decorated veteran, and against an antimilitary guy, is telling indeed .... about the latter.

That’s an opinion. I respect your opinion and can understand your reasoning. Calling Massie anti-military seems to be a poor opinion though.

What has he said that helped you form that opinion that he is anti military?

To the MAGA dweebs, this is more a referendum on Trump than Massie.

Personality cults rarely deviate from the dear leader and his importance.
