Do you like government handouts? Because if you don’t, you can’t turn around and use one handout to justify adding another one. That’s the same logic as arguing SNAP should be doubled by going out twice a month because it already goes out once. I’m guessing you wouldn’t accept that argument for five seconds.
If it only works one way it's not logic. It’s just an argument from inconsistency. If you want to defend the policy, defend it, but don’t base your argument on points that shift based on who’s holding the pen.

The problem with spending is ALL Americans, You, me, all of us demand 100 dollars of service for 60 dollars of taxes.

If we're depending on Congress to vote to make the cuts needed we're screwed. None are willing to make necessary cuts for fear of pissing off their voting block
