they just want you to be mentally prepared for when you see the gestapo in public beating people. That's just the strike force, they must've caught another price gouger

Biden's team desperately trying anything to gain popular support.
Why didn't they do this 2 years ago and sell it as helping Americans during high inflation????

I'm thinking it's way too little, way way too late.

with every new initiative, the modern day Democrat party looks more and more like the actual Communist party. this is basically the modern day version of sending teams out to find the kulaks who had an extra cow or too many pigs in 30s Russia.

The only thing we're getting more of for more of our money is government. We don't need a babysitter-type government dictating every little aspect of our lives.
If we woke up tomorrow morning and every Democrat was gone from our planet, it would be a good thing!
Yeah, a little over the top, huh? But that's what stupid shite can do to a person.

I wonder if Jotato will crack down on the employers and illegal invaders who are driving wages down in the US?

Probably not.

“Price gouging”…

Price gouging is charging $100/gal for gas after a hurricane, to where amounts are far in excess of what is reasonable even for a scarce quantity.

Charging $18 for a Big Mac meal is NOT gouging when the costs of labor and all inputs (meat, cheese, sauces, bread, etc) have all gone up significantly.

I have a prediction.

Billion dollar companies will not get a second look. But Fred the plumber will be forced to drop his prices even though his costs are up.

Yes, and no.

The price of an item is what a buyer is willing to pay in an arms length transaction and is dictated by supply and demand. If $100/gallon gas is in conformity with this, it may be immoral, but it is not gouging.

I mean from a legal perspective, not an economic perspective.

Legally, hotel rooms have a price printed on the card on the back of the door that says what the price of the room is, which is like $200-400

They can rent rooms for any amount they want, based on demand, but they have an upper cap they can’t breach without having legal issues. Doubly so if it is in a time of emergency as opposed to high demand.

Charging $400 a room for Black Spring Break is certainly legal because it is high demand for a nonessential event.

Charging $400 a room for people fleeing a hurricane gets into potential gouging territory.

So his plan is to put more companies out of business and drive cost/inflation up more?

Brilliant leadership…….

It is a normal tactic in the lefty playbook…

“Our economic policy isn’t fantasy, it is being undercut by people who are not playing fair!”

“Not playing fair” = “not taking SchruteBucks for something of actual value.”

Fred’s likely to tell someone “Clean the shite out yourself if you don’t like my prices.”

Much like doctors being threatened with lower wages under ObamaCare, anyone being told to lower prices may decide to do only the bare minimum of work needed. In other words, “go Galt.”
