"well we took money the citizens were going to get, and then we divided it up you see, and we gave it to them in smaller amounts but more often - it was truly revolutionary, ahead of its time"

One can only hope he is correct. If we are lucky that will be all he achieves.

Cool little sketch of the little black boy in the background. Is the mother mixed? The hair doesn't match of an AA female.

I read that as him saying the best thing he can do for the country is resign. He’s right sometimes you know.

Isn't it essentially an advance on their "tax refund" but they are billing it as a "tax cut" for families?

I have a hard time believing this is only going to “working families”

Have these already started going out and can people opt out of getting them if they want the larger return?

First checks go out today, and on the 15th of every month. It is my understanding that you can opt out, but since none of this applies to me, I’m not 100% sure. CPA was on local news earlier this week advising people to opt out unless they were in a dire situation.

When Democrats say "working families" what they mean by that is actually families who are NOT working at all. Ones who are completely on the government's dole.
When Democrats talk of the "wealthy", they mean average tax paying individuals making > 50K a year.
When Democrats talk of the "rich", they mean average tax paying individuals making > 250K.
