Biden Plans to Attack Filibuster in Last-Ditch Effort to Pass Massive Voting Bill

What ever it takes and cost.... "WE MUST REMAIN IN POWER TO RULE FROM ON HIGH INSIDE OUR SECURITY FENCE!"

The Senate is set to reconvene this week — one of their top priorities being the so called “For the People Act,” which Democrats claim fights “racism” and “suppression,” but would instead effectively nationalize elections and enable voter fraud.
Republicans previously blocked the bill by using the filibuster and preventing “tyranny of the majority.” Top Democrats are now calling on President Biden to lobby for “filibuster reform” in order to ram through the legislation this time around without the need for Republican votes, Rolling Stone reported Sunday.
“According to three people briefed on the White House’s position and its recent communications with outside groups, Biden assured Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi that he was ready to push for filibuster reform,” the report states.

It’s ironic progressives spent 4 years calling President Trump a “tyrant”. Now that Biden is in office and actually behaving like a real tyrant, they’re all good with it.

A President for blue states and red states

My guess is that they will break the bank for Manchin then a few other red state senators will want similar deals.
That will make the whole thing a protracted mess and potentially not get it through before something happens like Biden being removed (death or otherwise), Feinstein dying, the Arizona or Georgia Senators having their elections annulled, etc.

How many votes would it take to pass this? Why does it seem like so many things only require 50 votes? Sorry in advance if it’s a dumb question

It takes 50 (+ VP to break tie) to pass a bill, but 60 to end 'debate' (invoke cloture) on a bill. The filibuster is when there aren't enough votes to end debate and why they're trying to get rid of it

Votes on anything take 51 votes to pass (51 actual or 50 plus the VP).
GETTING to a vote requires 51 or 60 votes depending on the subject matter.
Judges are 51. I believe financial matters like taxes are 51. Most other matters require 60 votes to go to an official vote.

Reconciliation bills are limited to once/fiscal year.

The recall bill in Cali is being decided by mail in and totally fixed for the world to see.
Ironically it is on show for the US to see what would happen if the aforementioned bill became a law for the US.
I dont think it will pass and if comes for a vote, the votes will be blatantly bought with your tax dollars and I think the US will have had enough at that point because inflation will be well into double digits, more rampant disease, the schools in shambles, etc.
Funny, sounds like what we fought against a few centuries ago, the masses being ruled by a few elites far away.

The only thing that will ensure this is keeping up the pressure. Biden is an unpopular man and no one is going to risk political suicide or sacrifice themselves to push this through. Let's squash these spineless weasels and kills this unamerican crap.

Bingo. Moves and countermoves.
I don't think the filibuster or passage this clearly unconstitutional voting "rights" bill are in significant danger, but we absolutely have cards to play in the meantime.

They know we know. They are going to do everything they can to hold on to power.

It is the THEFT of the 2020 Election
AND
the THEFT of multiple elections over the last 20 years at least
All stolen by the USA's biggest tyranny, the Democrat Party

The only surprising part is that not one of the self proclaimed "reasonable" republicans & democrats who told us everything would go back to normal once Trump was gone aren't even acknowledging how fricked the country is in the last 7 months

They are racing against the coming financial crash that will all but finish off any support the opposition (The Establishment / Uniparty) had to the populist right.
I don't think there is much time left.
The dominos are already falling in China...
ZeroHedge - Evergrande denies Rumors of Bankruptcy
Once the next crash starts, the only support the left will have will be the radical progressives.

Does support matter if you are fixing the elections?
Well, only as long as people believe elections are fair and free.
Which means that they are likely fricked, and NOT necessarily at the ballot box either, when the shite hits the fan.

The belief in our institutions was how the Uniparty has been able to hide in the shadows.
That ship has sailed.
There are many people now wondering how long have elections been rigged. Not just are they rigged, but how long they have been rigged.

Pretty much.
Installing Biden worked in the short term for them by removing Trump and allowing them to get certain policies in place.
Problem for them is that Biden is horribly unpopular and few buy that he won legitimately, meaning that no one trusts elections to be fair. Which means that even if the Dems really DID win in 2022, no one would believe it.

Translation, for anyone with their head in the sand, Biden has been made aware that unless they’re able to cheat twice as much as last time, Biden will be beaten like a drum
