According to the Washington Post, DHS made the decision on Monday, and that the following morning the board’s leader, Nina Jankowicz, had a resignation letter drafted.

Asking her to stay is just cover for her to still do the job but without it being the ministry truth. DHS & Biden is not going to want to lose that availability to denounce republicans or anything that can hurt their opponents
